New: Zoom B3n Multi-Effects

The thread has gotten too big to search through so I am gonna ask. Has anyone powered both a B3n and a Line 6 G70 receiver off of the same power supply without hum or whine?

I have, but they sucked too much power (a Dunlop DC Brick). So I can't tell about the whine, since to get them both running I needed a 2nd power supply.

Ok, I had my new Zoom B3N for just twelve hours and it seems to have died on me. It's bricked. It won't load and hangs at the 'B3N v.1.00' screen no matter what I do. I've reset everything to the factory defaults, but that doesn't seem to help. Any ideas?

After picking up the B3N at the store yesterday, I did a four-hour rehearsal with my band without fault. In the evening, I wanted to load the new patches and effects to the device, but couldn't get it to work. I have no idea what's going on so maybe I thought you guys could help me? Thanks.

Get it exchanged for a new one, it's faulty.

Did it get unplugged from the computer while updating? Try updating it with Guitar Lab if you can.

I used the Aggie DB750 patch at church today. Passive Dingwall ABZ-5, neck pickup with both coils in series, tone and volume wide open.

G5n with the LMT-76 and RackComp models engaged ahead of the B3n, both compressors barely on. No cab sim on the B3n.

I suspect you could get a similar sound on B3n alone, by combining the LMT-76 with the 160 Comp. With the ratio and thresholds dialed way down, it gives a very mild, smooth compression that reminds me of my Diamond BCP-1.

This was for a DI feed with IEM's, no amps or wedges on stage. Easy to tweak, and it sounded GREAT...

So happy, but could really use a B-15 model amp and cab! { C'mon, Zoom! } ;)

I haven't been using my still-mint B3n, so I'm going to move it. Never been taken out of the house, only used a couple of times, maybe a couple of hours total. Original box and everything else. I'm thinking $165 shipped in the ConUS..

Let me know if you have any interest, I'll probably put it in the classifieds sometime this week.

If I remember well, I think there are some G5n user in here...
I've realized that sometimes I need more than 7 slots, and was caressing the idea of buying one.

Someone do have some clips to listen?
don't understand tech-talk but reading the manual I'v found this:
Frequency characteristics 20-20 kHz +1 dB, -3 dB (10 kΩ load), same as the B3n manual.

I think I can use it, but real user experience might works best. ;)

Zoom B5n Multi-Effects?

I didn't disconnect it, but the connection dropped. Strange thing is, if I leave it on for about half an hour it boots up and works perfectly. But that's not how it should work of course. I'll give the shop a call today and see if I can get it exchanged.

Thanks for the help everyone.

I have the B-15 patch in the v2.0 firmware on my MS-60B.

It has a nice, smooth old-school vibe. But it sounds kind of congested, and there's slightly blowy soft distortion in there that I can't seem to dial out. Reminds me of when I checked out the B3, and found it too lo-fi. A clean SVT patch actually seems to work better with a bit of tweaking and the right cab sim.

I suspect that they will port it over to the B3n in one of the next batches of updates, but I won't lose sleep if they don't.

Is there anyone who compared the B3n to a Line 6 POD X3? Can't find any comparison vid's. I can get a X3 Live in good shape second hand for the same price as a new B3n. Can't decide between the two. I'm a guitar player too so I like the fact that I can use the X3 for both Bass and Guitar. But Bass is my main instrument and from the reviews I get the impression that the B3n is the better sounding unit of these two.

Hello chaps, just upgraded from the B3 to the B3n and turned it on for the first time this evening. Can't see anywhere to copy patches, or when using the guitar lab, to edit and load patches from there - as would be possible with the B3 and the zoom editor software.
Does everything have to be done on the pedal and can patches be copied?
I tend to have a core sound that starts with some form of overdrive and then go from there. Having a different sound for each of our 27 songs, I'm hoping I don't have to start from scratch for every patch ;)
