Is AMS a sponsor of this forum?

No. :D

The Zoom Uk Facebook page has just replied to me that it's expected in mid-April...hopefully...

I guess by that time I'll be able to get others' opinions rather than just buy the shiny new toy.:)

I feel ya. It won't be long until we get more reviews from our friends here. I can wait until next payday. Maybe...

Would love to hear more comparisons between the amp Sims and the real things. The B3n vs B3k video a few pages back had an odd volume spike at the end :/

Nice. I wanted to try buying things from Sweetwater so many times, but I really dread the customer support that everyone praises. I would hate to get random calls checking up on me and the product

I rather liked them with my previous representative. In the beginning I did not like the calls but over time I learned that my representative was truly interested in my needs and interests. He always had answers to my questions and had no problems talking shop when I called. Totally cool guy. Not sure why Sweetwater fired him but from my perspective that was a huge mistake.

The new guy never calls and could not possibly care less about me, my needs, interests, or anything else. I feel like he does not even have any interest in selling me anything. I always have to be proactive and nine times out of ten I do the research on a product because he either does not know the answer or does not care.

Time to request a new representative.

Go with Sweetwater - you won't regret it. Free shipping. No hassle returns. Free two year warranty. Great tech support. Best move (with the exception of the new rep) I have ever made in terms of buying gear.

So after taking my order and charging my credit card over a month ago AMS did not ship to me, instead, they put me on the back order list. Order cancelled and a B3n is en route from another source, it will arrive tomorrow. i will reveal the source once I get a tracking number to ensure that orders placed after mine aren't mistakenly fulfilled before mine. Disappointed, don't charge my card until you either ship or are certain you are receiving enough units to cover your pre-orders.
Edit : My card had a hold on it, it was not charged, still disappointed.

I suspect Zoom shorted their shipment to AMS as Zoom perhaps could not meet the AMS pre-order demand, but I am glad that you have one coming tomorrow.

Skyrocket? I doubt it. You can buy a good, small, inexpensive direct box and place it before or after the B3n to have identical function to the B3.

Anyone who spends 3x street price for a discontinued B3 solely because of this feature should have their head examined...not that those people don't exist, but still, the cost vs. value doesn't make any sense at an inflated $600 price when the $200 B3n + a DI can be had for half that price or less (if in fact you're a bassist who doesn't already own one).

Or are you trying to convince the market that those of us who own the B3 have in our possession something worth $600 (which I highly doubt is the case)? If what you say is true, I'm selling. Any takers at the low, low price of $575? LMAO

Yeah - I'll gladly give up my current B3 for $500 - not to undercut you Jim, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do... ;)

All true. And I've also seen claims that the B3's XLR output isn't really that great.

The thing about the B3's XLR output is this ==> It is NOT a "direct out" in the strictest sense - the output of the XLR is essentially (if not identically) the same as the output at the 1/4" jacks --> LINE LEVEL. So, the ONLY thing, IMHO, more that you get with a B3 is an XLR jack - I suspect that if you don't need stereo outputs, getting a 1/4" to XLR adapter to run from one of the 1/4" outputs on the B3n is going to give you the same result as an XLR line from the B3.

That's poor customer service on their part, but glad you found a better option. (Actually, those kind of antics lose customers.)
