Yeah, you have to use your imagination as to what the thing would would sound like in a live band setting.
I think the "sounds" are as good as most stuff out there. It boils down to how "user friendly" the unit is.
Out of all of those samples, my favorite is "Octofuzz". As for using this pedal live, I would want to blend some clean signal with the effect. The Octavius probably has this feature, no? If not, a Barge VB Jr is in order.
Anyway, as with most products, sound samples and factory presets are just something to whet your appetite. Chunk systems has touted this thing as having LOTS of sounds and flexibility. What does everyone else think?

I think I like it but Im not sure. I thought I would like it better. But again like you said its factory presets. I should buy it as it may be hard to get, like a few of the older synth type pedals I wish i had. But I will make my decision based on price. I don't hear anything different than a Fuzz, envelope, and octaves together. I don't hear "and other effects" as they stated. When is the "come on the market date"?

Godlyke has the price at $599. About what I expected I suppose. I'll buy it maybe if I see a clip of how to work the beast or get to touch one myself. Until then I'm gonna just wait until the reviews flow in.

Yes, it's true bypass. Yes, each effect preset has different amounts of blend. Some presets blend the input signal with the synth before the filter and some presets blend the input signal with the filter output.

I was also intrigued by the other CS pedals. Enough to feel that this might be the first 'commercial' non-diy pedal on my board. Looks as though ill be sticking with my BMS clone after all... Doesn't sound bad, but I think I prefer the BMS from what I have heard so far.

I'm really digging the samples. I'm looking forward to hearing some clips from anyone on talkbass. Different instruments, and other pedals run through an amp, not just straight to a sound card.

There is portamento in one sample. I can't think of another pedal that does that. There are also 2 clips with sample and hold, using an LFO (I think) in one, and and random S&H in the other. There is other filter modulation going on in other clips that is interesting as well.
I'm impressed.

Didn't hear any samples that I needed on there, but the overall quality lets me know that I can probably get cool sounds out of it.
I didn't mind it I rarely use my deep impact on its own and Id imagine I would be the same with this. Im not gagging over it, but am interested to hear comments about how it is to use and listen to some soundclips with some other effects in line as they become available.

Me like it! Portamento and different waveforms and LFO`s with tap tempo, random arpeggiator or something, really nice. I wonder how well could this do BMS everything-dimed-fuzz-sweep-expolsion. 
Sounds great. The octave fuzz is sweet. I bet you can get a deeper underground sound out of it, and if you can, that's good enough for me.
Sounds similar (at least from the few samples) to what a DI can do. My question is whether or not it can pull out the sounds of the G5 too. Probably expecting too much from one pedal...but if it could do both I would sell!
