News on Chunk Systems Bass Synth

Got mine this afternoon...

So far it seems... underwhelming :eyebrow: I wasn't expecting this to be a basic plug-n'-play pedal, but it doesn't seem to be reacting to my basses very well at all!

Tracking on anything involving the synth is currently unsuable. Any note on the G sting glitches and varies in pitch though I'm playing as cleanly as possible. Other notes above low E are ok if playing staccato, but start glitching after just a second if held.

I don't know if this is just me having not set up the pedal correctly. I adjusted the tracking sensitivity high enough so that the notes don't die after just a second, but I can't seem to find a setting that doesn't freak out at me. Never had this much trouble with the Akai DI, is there something I'm missing?

I've tried it with 3 basses, my stingray 5, my warwick $$ and my G&L tribute (with passive bypass on the tribute) and got the same result.

On the plus side, the filter circuit sounds great and the fuzz is pretty cool too.

Anyone else having this kind of trouble?

I am having the same glitching issues (part of why I haven't recorded samples yet). I do not doubt at all that there is a solution for the issue within the pedal- I just haven't figured it out yet.

Email Richard Cartwright. He's answered (quickly and completely) every question I've had so far.

He's already trying to help me out with my envelope filter problem, which seems to be an input volume issue, so I'll ask him about it when he responds back next tonight.

Has anyone else wondered how on earth Richard Cartwright manages to come up with such amazing pedals, answer EVERY email VERY quickly and eat, sleep etc?

I heard he has one of these:

Mine glitches a bit... though it has trouble tracking some notes more than others, C# on the G string seems to give it quite a bit of grief. Though seeing as its digital tracking I'm guessing that Richard will be able to make improvements to the algorithm over time and it can be updated.

Here's a clip of the "Downtown" preset, one of the better (for me) filters. I'll get more clips up in awhile. I am experiencing the tracking issues with the synth but I haven't tried to set it up correctly yet, still just playing around.

This is a pedal that will reward the tweakers for sure. As soon as I can figure out the secret to tracking I'll put some synth samples up.
