Yeah I was thinking that too. One jog wheel and how many effects and parameters? Maybe it ships with 96 presets that won't need too much personalisation.

There's a number of ways they could take care of this- the footswitches may act as "enter" buttons in the programming stage, so they could have a series of paramaters that are adjusted one at a time and you simply move on to the next one after each "enter" press.

For this kind of pedal, 2 knobs is all you need. You simply go through the effects parameters, adjusting parameters as you go, The same way the Deep Impact works.

For example instead of having an octave knob, a filter knob, a fuzz knob etc, you just go Fuzz level: turn the knob, then on to the next parameter, and adjust the same knob but it will adjust a different parameter, and then save what you've changed.

I think Chunk have really nailed what a Bass player wants/needs in a Synth pedal, I can't wait.

Come to think of it, the Deep Impact only has 4 knobs because it has input volume and output volume, so it only has 2 knobs that actually control the parameters anyway.

I would imagine it's a line level out for the click track. earphones are always good with such a weapon. However, if you wanted to you could probably put it through a PA and torture everyone within earshot too

for $300 they will sell a lot of them, at $500- $600 that's going to be tougher sell.

I think the Brown Dog and 00Funk retail for 275 each, so this thing will have to cost at least 399. Lots of envelope filters alone cost 200 and up, and this unit will have lots more features. If we're lucky, it might drive down the price of other companies' units. Maybe the Deep Impact gouging will finally end too.

I guess a metronome makes sense. However I really don't understand how this would be helpful other than practicing by yourself. But what i was really wondering was if this AUX out could be used with other envelope filters besides just the agent 00funk pedal.

I think they are shooting for June, but as JazzAd pointed out, pedal builders rarely make their target release date. There are always little delays, but for some reason I think Chunk will start shipping these this summer. At least I sure hope so.

The only word so far is "mid-2008". Who knows when that will actually be.

On another note: At first, I thought that the SD card slot was kind of silly other than for firmware upgrades. But now, I think that it would be possible to create a cool preset, and then post in online somewhere (perhaps a website that a lot of bass players visit...I can't think of one off-hand ). Others could download it and just load it up on their Octavius. Cool.

A USB port could do the same thing though...not sure why Chunk went with the SD card.

My guess is because the SD card allows Users to Save the preset on the SD card and be able to Upload or Download without having a computer around.

This is just my guess.

When I owned my Bass Pod XT PRO it was a hassle having to bring a computer around to hook it up to to try and download new software. I could imagine a SD card being a little more convenient.

I think the SD card will be a great way to save settings for a particular instrument. For example, a typical passive bass behaves very differently from an active one.

I think it would be cool to have sometype of software tool that can edit the config files. I am guessing they are midi sysex. Without a software modeler, you can only do so much, but it would still be helpful for some stuff.

Yes, I see that...but the pedal already has 96 availabe presets on it! This is way, way more than I would ever need...but I suppose there are bass players out there that might need the SD card for more.
