Without a helmet and facemask, you can't bury the guy you are hitting by drilling him in the sternum with your forehead. Well, you can, but you won't remember it and probably won't play again. I can't even tell you how many times I played no-pad pickup games. It's just what boys do, or did in Ohio back when. Sometimes on asphalt playgrounds. I don't know why we were allowed to do that, but it was a different time.

Changes are choking off the future of bass players. They won't get hit in the head and will become concert violinists instead. This could be a problem.

Every season, I go through this with my wife vs. Michael Vick.
FWIW, I love dogs. We had a pit and I was sick by what went down. Nevertheless, we should have at least a shot at redemption.

Maybe I have gotten too pragmatic in my old age.

I feel you on that @JimK. There are a couple things that come to mind that I don't think deserve a second chance, drunk drivers and men who are violent towards women and/or children.
Kareem Hunt has every right to work and provide for his family. I just don't think it should be while tens of thousands of people are watching and cheering for him.
We certainly need to wait to see how this turns out though. There are some jobs a person can't have when they are guilty of certain crimes. Being a professional athlete should be one of them, especially since there are thousands of other job options available.
Remember when Charles Barkley did the 'I'm not a role model' commercials? The fact is, athletes are role models and there is no getting around it anymore.

While we're at it, nothing and no one can get me to scramble for the remote to change the channel faster than the merest sight or sound of either Stephen A. Smith (I know exactly what the "A" stands for) or Skip Bayless. I just can't fathom why anyone would ever want to listen to their bloviating drivel.

Same here. It's sad to see what ESPN has turned in to.
I'm with you too @BioDriver on Kiper. I believe he doesn't know anything more than most of the guys who post here about the NFL and college football.
