I think Payton also went something like 5-0 with Bridgewater when he filled in. Colin Cowherd was talking about it in the background as I was driving around today.
Payton is quite the coach, that's for sure. As Cowherd said today, he took nothing in New Orleans and turned it into a Super Bowl. By contrast, the cupboards in Denver are well stocked. I just really think this'll come down to Wilson and he's going to be the problem. Not because he's hurt, but because he's all about himself. Who knows, maybe Payton gives the order to LetRussCook.

The NFL is moving away from focusing on actual football and focusing more on entertaining fans. Just look what they're doing with the Manning jokers, which I 100% refuse to listen to. Gronk in the broadcast booth would be entertaining. I'd give it a listen, but I'm also a fan of Brady and appreciate the insight Romo gives during games. Far better than some of this foofy nonsense others guys throw out there.
For example, when has Herbstreit ever said something you didn't already know? That six yard pass there on third and 12 isn't going to get you a first down...
Yeah, no duh bro.
Or...or.... It's third and a mile and he'll let us know now is a perfect time for a big play from the defense so they can get off the field and put the ball in their QB's hands.

This why I watch football with the sound turned way down, except when I want to hear non-obvious foul explained by the ref or the TV rules expert. Same goes for soccer. If you understand the game, it's fine to just sit back and watch without these knuckleheads who feel the need to fill with every second with chatter.
Now THAT is a great idea!!!!!!! We might even hear stuff as good as Don Meredith's comments.
Gronk would be annoying to me. The overgrown manchild thing is fine in small doses like commercials. Also, 4 people in the booth on one broadcast is too many.
Michaels, Brady and Gronk would make a nice Monday night crew. The 3-person crew works if it's done well.
Romo is fantastic because of his insight/experience and perfect because he is honest but somewhat censored. Brady is a knowledgeable jerk. He cannot possibly care about burnt bridges at this point. I want to see someone with even less of a filter. Also, all the "Brady to Las Vegas" talk has been giving me nightmares. Booth. Field. Whatever. Not in silver/black.
