At this point, I'm happy that both sides have a Coug in the game. Minshew and Dillard on the Eagles, and Watson on the Chefs. So at least one Coug will get a winning Super Bowl ring.

And I'll be watching to see where Minshew lands next season. He may not be a Mahomes, but he's better than a number of QBs who started this year. He's mobile and accurate, and he doesn't throw picks. I could easily see him in Houston, Carolina, maybe Arizona. Tua needs to retire immediately in Miami, and they'll need a starter.

I know you love your Minshew, but as a Dolphins fan I certainly hope we would do better if we needed a Tua replacement. Minshew went 0-2 with Philly, forcing them to bring back an injured Hurts to secure the top seed. Minshew threw a combined three picks (granted, not all his fault), fumbled four times (!), and only generated 10 points vs. the Saints.

I hear you!! He does have a lot to prove. I was surprised that he didn't win at least one of those two.

But I'm betting the NFL will give him a shot as a starter. Then it's up to him and the rest of the players. I think the Dolphins have a good enough team to make some good things possible.

I'm not gonna sit here and tell you he's a pro bowler, but he's a young enough QB that I think on the right team, in the right system, he could be good and possibly win a division.

Remember he was on the abysmal Jags for 2 years and still has 44 TD / 15 INT and a career rating of 93.1. The couple games this year were without a doubt not his best, but he's capable enough. He's only 26, same age group as Mahomes, Burrow, and Allen.

That's what I'm saying. Even without the penalty that kick is within Butker's range this season. It just is. And worse case they go to OT. Hurst holds on to that great pass and Bengals would be up by 4 instead of tied at that point, KC field goal wouldn't matter.

The game is the totality of 60 minutes,
Not that 1 shove. And as a proud Falcons fan I guarantee that same hit never gets called for us. Bengals lost the whole game. Not that 1 play.

It is NEVER truly up to the kicker to win, lose or tie a game. It's up to the offense to finish the drive and it's up to the defense to stop them. Cincy didn't finish on offense and didn't stop on defense for 60 minutes. And honestly neither did KC.

And last year Cincy went to the Super Bowl for the exact same reason. A late 3.

As a fellow Dolphins fan I hope they don't wait too long to have a quality backup/replacement. I'm really afraid Tua will have to be replaced sooner rather than later. I hate that but this many concussions in one season plus the other injuries he seems to suffer fairly often.

Good summation. Minshew has been on a decent team now (Eagles) for two years, but only as a backup. On the Jags when he started he had one good runner, one good receiver, and the rest were the stooges. His TD to interception ratio was incredible.

Yeah, if Tua wants to remember his own name in a couple years, retirement is about the only option for him.

He'll already have a hard time walking and getting around in his later years after the various lower body injuries he had in college. There's time to save what's left of his brain.

AND...the Broncos got Sean Payton as their next head coach!

Deal being finished as I write this.

The Saints will receive the Broncos' 2023 first-round pick (No. 29 overall) and their 2024 second-round pick for Payton, and Denver gets the Saints' 2024 third-round selection, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

There may be more draft picks in the deal - different reports are still coming in. I'm sure we'll all see plenty of detail as the arrangements are finalized.

I respectfully differ - coaching was a BIG problem on the offensive side. Players didn't know their assignments, play was inconsistent, and the O-line couldn't block. Not all their problems were coaching, as they need a major reset in the offensive personnel, but many of the issues involved coaching.

I listened to the ex-Bronco players dissecting the games, and they made it clear that the team was not well coached, didn't understand the offense, and that the play calling did not match the talents of the players they had.

With this addition of Payton, do you believe Denver is a Super Bowl favorite now for next season?
Yes, coaching was a challenge in Denver last year, but it wasn't the reason the team was terrible. Wilson is as much to blame, and he's still there.

No. I don't think Denver is even a division favorite as long as Mahomes and Herbert are there.

I think odds are that Denver can go .500 next year. As they rebuild I think that by 2025 they will be a contender for a wild card slot.

Which depends a great deal on Wilson, but I have never felt that he was done. However, if they don't think they are contending for a wild card by 2025 I think he'll be gone. They actually have a reduced price "out" at the end of 2024.
