He's great, no doubt. I'm talking more of their O-line and defense. Cincy sacked Mahomes 3 times, Philly should be able to get to him more. If he doesn't have all his receivers and he's not at 100%, it might not be pretty. KC's defense isn't nearly as good as SF's, and Philly was able able to crack their exterior and put up 31. Philly has the best O-line in the game. Hurts had an extraordinary amount of time on some of the plays today against the best defense in football.

Anything can happen and it should be a good game.

Mahomes should be more mobile in the SB. Remains to be seen how many starting receivers and secondary guys they get back---they had three rookies out there for most of the game.

Philly is certainly great, and I'm a Hurts fan. But a win is far from assured.

I love Ossai. Hate that for him. But it was a good game and that one push is not why they lost.

I think very highly of Burrow, but do not like the Bengals as a team. Never have. So I was rooting for the Chiefs. But even I felt bad for Ossai sitting on the bench sobbing for so long after the game.

I'm a Steelers/AFC guy, but I'll be pulling for the Eagles in the Super Bowl. My oldest son works in Philly, and is a big Eagles fan. But I also like Mahomes, Andy Reid, and the Chiefs; so it won't bother me which team wins.

I disagree in that I do not think they'd have made the field goal without that 15 yard penalty. If I recall, it would have been something like 63 or 64 yards. Nance or Romo were saying that neither kicker were hitting much of anything over 50 yards in warmups.

But you're right in that you normally can't blame a loss on one single play. But in this case, that penalty just happened to be the very thing that gave K.C. the chance for that game-winning kick. I think that's why I feel so bad for Ossai. If it hadn't been an already banged up Mahomes who was the recipient of Ossai's shove, it might not have been called. But I don't really think it was a bad call. It WAS dangerously close to the bench area, and as soon as it happened I thought there would be a flag on the play.

If Mahomes (and a few receivers) are healthy, it should be a pretty good Super Bowl.

When you push a player in the back who has both feet out of bounds by a yard and heading further out of bounds, late hit is the right penalty to call there. I don't think the fact that it was Mahomes or that Mahomes was already injured factored into the penalty being called.
Then don't make it worse by rolling over and grabbing you knee like you have an injury when the guy with a legit injury is already back on his feet hobbling back on the field getting ready for the next play.

I was kinda hoping they would squeak out a win on KC so they could pound their chest and talk trash for 2 weeks.
I would have thoroughly enjoyed watching Philly make them look like a HS team.

Hurst doesn't drop that TD that hit him in the hands in the end zone, Bengals would have been up 4 points. I've been a football fan since I was a toddler and played for years. One thing is universally true and universally misunderstood, the game isn't won or lost on a final desperate field goal. Teams have 60 minutes to make separation. Cincy didn't do enough on offense and never were better than tied. That has nothing to do with 1 kick.

ps, "my" team didn't make it this year, I have no loyalty to either KC or Cincy. But Harrison Butker's season made long is 62 yards. So yeah, that penalty helped but didn't really. Chiefs still had time for another edge play but the penalty just meant they didn't need to risk it.

Let's not overlook Burrow's 2 interceptions. He's a great QB and made some amazing throws into double coverage. But he got greedy on that second pick, it was 3rd and 3.

For sure. I wasn't trying to insinuate a win was guaranteed.

With the Giants, I expected a win.

Against the 49ers I expected a low scoring game which I thought the Eagles would come out on top. It wouldn't have surprised me if it was a "last team to have the ball wins" just because scoring was so low. If Purdy stayed healthy I think he would have kept some drives going longer which would have allowed the defense to rest a bit. Once it was clear SF posed no passing threat, Eagles could just stack the box expecting a run and have the secondary play man in coverage.

Obviously the Chiefs are a much different team. Their offense is their strength. Mahomes at full strength is quite possibly be best QB of this generation, but he's not, and most likely won't be. Adrenaline kept him going yesterday but even he admitted he tweaked it during the game. I'm sure he's in a lot of pain today and not putting weight on it.

I'm sure him and the WR room will be playing, albeit with some question marks. I don't expect them to put up 50 points though. The Eagles have a very good defense against healthy teams. If they can slow down Kelce and get to Mahomes, it might not be a pretty game.

No one can really question that call. Totally avoidable. There was a KC taunting call earlier in the game that was mind boggling. These guys need to play smarter when a single penalty can cost them a game. We see this all the time with the undisciplined Steelers.

I get what your saying and I don't disagree, Cincy had a putrid first 15 minutes. Numerous events can be pointed to when assessing the overall game.

It's just that Ossia's unfortunate brain cramp at the worst possible moment had dire consequences when it mattered most. That's not good.

I enjoyed watching that AFC game. The NFC game turned into a snoozer. I felt bad for the 49ers, as they were really hurt by losing Purdy and you can't expect a team in that QB situation to win a game against a team like the Eagles. That young man is going to be a very good QB for a long time, and I think the 49ers have their QB of the future in him.

At this point, I'm happy that both sides have a Coug in the game. Minshew and Dillard on the Eagles, and Watson on the Chefs. So at least one Coug will get a winning Super Bowl ring.

And I'll be watching to see where Minshew lands next season. He may not be a Mahomes, but he's better than a number of QBs who started this year. He's mobile and accurate, and he doesn't throw picks. I could easily see him in Houston, Carolina, maybe Arizona. Tua needs to retire immediately in Miami, and they'll need a starter.
