So, Warren is having the game of his career and is the only Steeler able to do anything on the offense. They take the ball out of his hands when the game is on the line and give it to Pickett and stonehands Johnson. Canada should have been fired right there on the field.
Did you happen to notice how unhappy he was on the 75 yard Warren TD?
The very next drive, Warren didn't even see the field. Two runs to Harris after a short pass, three and out.
Harris is another former Alabama bust. He's nothing.
The guy has a serious ego problem in addition to his inability to call an NFL offense. I saw a couple interviews recently where he blew off the folks interviewing him like they were not worthy of his time.
As for Pickett, that's what he is. He won't get better than he is now. The Steelers front office got enamored with a local kid and went all in on a career backup to save the franchise. But hey, he's going to come cheap at the next contact renewal because he doesn't have any stats to prove otherwise so the bean counters will love him. He'll help Tomlin ensure he never finishes under 500 while keeping his mouth shut, so Tomlin loves the guy.
From the moment that ball was kicked off, the Steelers played with little more desire than not to lose. The lone exceptions to that would include Cam, Warren, TJ, and, Highsmith.
Cleveland rolls out backups at key positions all over the offense and the Steelers made them look like the old Oilers run and shoot. I get it, it's hard to prep for players you don't have much tape on, but come on already.
Classic Tomlin near the end of the first half, down 10 points with a couple seconds on the clock and you get the ball back to start the third. Throw a Hail Mary? Try something, anything, to score? Nope, they kneel on it to end the half. Doesn't even give his guys a chance to try. Loser mentality right there.
