No way Tomlin would have been calling time outs as the second half was winding down to try and get the ball back to score again like Reid and Sirianni did.
He woulda taken a knee to get into the locker room and enjoy a hot cocoa while he thought up clever and smart sounding things to say after the loss.

Sigh, no change in Pittsburgh even though Canada was fired. Tomlin continues to amaze me with his ability to run his mouth with grandiose words while basically saying nothing.
Eddie Faulkner (RB coach) is, according to Tomlin 'organizing efforts' and 'game planning' and Mike Sullivan (not THAT Mike Sullivan, the current QB coach) will call plays, but not all of them. According to Tomlin, 'the bulk of the responsibility'. These guys are nobodies, buried on a coaching staff as positions coaches with no kind of track record of success developing and/or running an offense. They've been on the Steelers learning from Canada and Tomlin. Guess what we're going to get? Canada 2.0.
Sure, Tomlin is excited about this because nothing is going to change. Just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. If you have about 90 seconds of your life to waste, give it a listen....

Great idea, but no chance Tomlin let's that happen. They'll only promote from within since they've all been groomed to accept the Tomlin standard.
He already runs the defense, and now in some bizarre move he divided up the OC role between two guys who also aren't qualified to do it.
Faulkner? Nice guy with zero coaching skills in the NFL outside Pittsburgh where he's been responsible for a mediocre RB group
Sullivan? He hasn't been an OC for six years, a lifetime in the NFL, and his last time was that crummy Giants team.
Upon further review, this was a move made so Najee and George would stop crying.

What we've seen is KP8 regress from where he was last season. Having the QB coach responsible for that regression now being the in game play caller, does not inspire any confidence that this team will turn around this late in the season.

Now Tomlin is claiming the decision to fire Canada was entirely his. BS. The Steelers have never fired a high level coach mid-season and wouldn't now without the blessing (or probably the insistence) of Art.

Never in a million years would I guess Sam Howell as the leading passer in the NFL right now. I'm guessing that's more to do with Eric Bieniemy than Howell.
See now, if the Rooney's had any sense they'd send a blank check to Mr. Bieniemy and let Tomlin know this is how it's going to be. If Tomlin hesitated, change the title from OC to HC for Bieniemy and send Mike on down the road to be 'not under 500' somewhere else.

I’m not surprised to see Howell succeeding. At UNC he was ahead of the conference. He out performed Trevor Lawrence behind a weaker O line with weaker targets in exactly the same schedule for a couple seasons. Commanders aren’t great and although I’m rooting for Bieniemy to succeed he makes some questionable in-game moves. Howell is carrying that team.
