Never in a million years would I guess Sam Howell as the leading passer in the NFL right now. I'm guessing that's more to do with Eric Bieniemy than Howell.
See now, if the Rooney's had any sense they'd send a blank check to Mr. Bieniemy and let Tomlin know this is how it's going to be. If Tomlin hesitated, change the title from OC to HC for Bieniemy and send Mike on down the road to be 'not under 500' somewhere else.

I’m not surprised to see Howell succeeding. At UNC he was ahead of the conference. He out performed Trevor Lawrence behind a weaker O line with weaker targets in exactly the same schedule for a couple seasons. Commanders aren’t great and although I’m rooting for Bieniemy to succeed he makes some questionable in-game moves. Howell is carrying that team.

Didn’t watch any games because hanging with family is always better on Thanksgiving, but…

Put Howell on the Steelers, and they might have a team in spite of Tomlin.

Howell might be leading the league in passing yards, but he's also thrown 80 more passes than anyone else (Washington hasn't had a bye yet) and leads the league in interceptions.

Looking at QBR, he ranks 22nd. Granted, still better than Pickett.

Commanders rank about 20th in points per game.

Oh he’s better than Des Ridder too. Ridder is dead last in targets to open receivers. It’s bad when my own kids tell me I shouldn’t be a Falcons fan.

Didn’t catch any games this week, but reading about them in The paper the next day and scrutinizing the box scores has been kind of fun and a throwback to my childhood. I have to say, I don’t miss all the Disney hype and commercials that watching the games is full of.

My takeaways from afar:
- Steelers keep on stealing.
- Bengals are done. They have been relying on one great player to be great for awhile now, and when he’s not there, neither are they.
- Eagles keep winning, but I still don’t like them for some reason I can’t understand.
- I shouldn’t keep liking the Chiefs now that they are in the “dynasty” phase, but somehow I do.
- I really hope Myles Garrett isn’t seriously hurt. Great player.
- Bills are floundering.
- Dolphins and 9ers keep rolling.
- Texans, Colts and Broncos are feel good redemption stories at this point. Nobody killing it except maybe Stroud, but they’ve been so bad for so long that it’s nice to see that things don’t have to stay the same.

I don’t know if it’s the actual quality of the turf. Reason being colleges and high schools don’t have the problem and neither do the Women’s and handful of pro Men’s soccer teams that play on turf.

However one thing I wonder about is how it’s deployed in NFL. For example, MBS stadium where the Falcons play opened in 2017 and has had game turf replaced 4 times. There’s only 8 or a maximum of 10 home games for a top playoff contender. They don’t practice on that turf and it’s removed for other events.
Is it the turf or is it that it’s rolled out and reinstalled 5-6 times a year and only used a couple dozen times per year (if it’s a shared use floor) and never has a proper chance to settle? When a college football practice or game field is replaced they typically allow about 8-10 weeks for settling and roll over it regularly. It never gets removed and stored in rolls.

Sure, but they lost by 3 to a good 8-3 team and averaged over 6 yards a play. Plus, one more win this season and they will have won as many games this year as the last two years combined. Last year they were 3-13-1 and now they're 6-5. I'd call that an impressive turnaround.

Fortunately for Bears fans, the Panthers have an ace up their sleeve in David Tepper’s enormous ego. His ideas of team building are reminiscent of Dan Snyder’s early years with Washington. He tried and tried to buy instant greatness, getting worse with every attempt.

People will pick at Bears management - and more often than not they are quite justified in doing so - but among the less obvious moves GM Poles made when trading the #1 pick to Carolina was insisting that the deal include D.J. Moore. Far beyond giving Fields an instant upgrade to the Bears WR corps it stripped away the talent pool for rookie QB Young. I like Thielen and all but when a 33 year old journeyman becomes your top WR it's going to be a tough go for anyone, especially a rookie. Poles knew this and knew this would greatly increase the odds of that Carolina pick being a top 5. Pats are a late entry into the how low can we go sweepstakes TBH as I thought it was a 2 horse race with the Cards until this week.
