The Bears made Wiliams a lot better by getting Odunze, too. Atlanta scored with Penix. I don't like the Falcons much, but I will root for Penix.
Whoever ends up playing QB for them just got better with that pick.
I agree - great pick. He can play anywhere on the O-line, but the Steelers have already stated he will be a tackle.
So now the question becomes will he play left or right tackle? He was basically a left tackle his entire career at Washington. But the plan has always been to move Broderick Jones to HIS natural left tackle position. So since they're both basically left tackles, do they flip a coin or what?!

No kidding. They got a beast who can plug in anywhere on their o-line. He will make their running backs better, too. I'm a little surprised he lasted that long before getting drafted.

Atlanta got the best QB in the draft. He's going to be good once he grows into the NFL QB role.

When there's a game in Brazil along with pushing his European agenda, you know Goodell and his cronies don't give a rat's ass about the fans in the US that have built the NFL into what it is.
My NFL draft day two wish list for the Steelers: Jackson Powers-Johnson.
Set Jones and Fautanu on each end, and Johnson as the C. There's the framework for a rock solid line for years to come. Leave Seumalo at guard and slide Herbig back to the other guard. Russell Wilson will have a field day behind that line and Najee may even be able to get more than 1-2 yards a carry. If he doesn't, then we know he has been the problem all along. If that's the case, they can sign me. I can fall forward for at least three yards on every play. I'll sign for unlimited Yuengling and Primanti's.

ESPN has named him the draft guru, so there you go.
I'd love to see an analysis of how many times he is dead wrong on his predictions. I'll be he is no better than any fan of both the NFL and college game who doesn't make a career of it. I'd gladly give them my opinion for 1/10th of what Kiper is making.
Last year, he got one pick right in the first round, Bruce Young to Carolina, which anyone with half an eye on the NFL picked. One for 31.

I like Penix a whole lot. But it's really bizarre for Atlanta to pick him when they just gave Kirk Cousins $100 million in guaranteed money and they have a lot of other needs they could address with the #8 pick. Penix is also going to be, at the very least, 26 years old before he gets the full time starting position.
I wouldn't mind so much if the Steelers grabbed Kedon Slovis later on to see if he can learn from Wilson and maybe take over in a year or two.

Yeah, I was hoping for Powers-Johnson also, but he got snagged by the Raiders before the Steelers picked. In my heart, I didn't think he'd still be there for them at 51. But I think they were very lucky in that Zach Frazier was still there. His wrestling experience should serve him well on the O-line from a leverage standpoint. He finished with a 159-2 record, and was a 4-time heavyweight champion in high school. Their O-line looks to be a LOT better now.
I think it's due to his senior status as THE draft guru. But I'd much rather listen to Field Yates or Daniel Jeremiah.
Another totally irrelevant thought since it's no longer a possibility. Yes, I was hoping Powers-Johnson would be available for the Steelers at pick 51. If he HAD been, I thought they might then grab Roger Rosengarten with their next pick. Oh well, hopefully it will work out well the way it turned out.

I wanted Rosengarten as well, but it was wise to pick who they did in my opinion. I feel like the Wilson picks may have been a stretch, but they do need ILB's, so it made sense.
Khan is definitely putting his stamp on this team. I like it.

Pittsburgh is all done in the draft. No Kedon Slovis, but that's ok. Maybe he can be an undrafted free agent.
Their last pick was a 6'3" DB from Texas, so a winner. That's nice.
