My thoughts after this week:

- Can't tell if the Steelers are better than I thought, or if Indy just randomly crapped the bed. Six turnovers is an outlier. Watt is still for real.

- Really enjoyed watching the KC dynasty bois fail to make a miraculous Brady-esque comeback. My son enjoyed that too. Also very much enjoying the Bills having a running game outside of Allen.

- There's no "D" in "Cincinnatti". I like Flacco, though.

- There's no "O" in "Cleveland". Myles Garrett is fun to watch, though.

- Denver can't keep this comeback crap going forever. Maybe try playing better the first three quarters?

- Didn't see Seattle being this good this soon. Or Rams D being that good.

- Raiders, Fins, Jets, Titans, Bengals, Giants, Saints, Commanders, and Cowboys suck because they can't play defense.

The Steelers D was on their game and also had the bounces go their way for a change. We'll see if they can do this two games in a row. I didn't get to see that game here though because we have to watch the Bungles Bungle.

I'm still flabbergasted that the Packers didn't score a TD against the Panthers until the 4th quarter. Carolina's D is decent, but I guess if you turn it over twice on their side of the field, that does not bode well. It's only Green Bay's 2nd loss of the season, so I shouldn't put too much stock in it. LaFleur is good at fixing mistakes moving forward.

I'll add a couple things. Cincy and Baltimore have two of the worst defenses I've ever seen. It's going to take a lot of rebuilding to get either team to the SB, even with Lamar and Burrow as QBs.

KC pretty much always loses to Buffalo in the regular season (1-5 in the Mahomes/Allen era), but is 4-0 against them in the playoffs. I think the Chiefs are generally improving, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them beat the Bills in the playoffs again.

There's so much parity overall in the NFL right now. It's pretty cool! But it also means there are no great teams.

In fairness to the Saints, they suck less than at least 2 of the others, despite literally having backup QBs with no experience as their top 2 options. They’re really bad, but anyone worse than that should just be flat out embarrassed.

The Jets have officially started their rebuild by trading Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams for 3 first round picks and a second rounder.

This seems uncharacteristically smart for the Jets. The way I figure it, until you have your QB, plus a solid O-line, you had better be stockpiling first round picks. I’m not suggesting that means they’re suddenly a good organization, but the first step really is getting management to admit they’re not just a couple pieces away from contending.

Quite a different approach than Mike Tomlin, stockpiling guys who were good 5-10 years ago and hoping you catch lightning in a bottle with your crappy mid round picks since you're just mediocre enough not to get the draft picks you actually need.

I feel your pain. I watched the Bears do that for the better part of a decade before hitting rock bottom. You go from overpaying your own over the hill superstars to taking a flyer on other teams’ over the hill superstars, to eventually just having teams dominated by guys on 1 year prove it deals. It’s not too late for the Steelers to pull out of that tailspin, but the window is closing fast.

Aha so you too get it. Bummer we share that pain.
You're totally right, but until the Steelers finish under 500, which in case you didn't know they never have under Mike Tomlin, the Steelers don't see a problem that needs fixing.

When I read, last year, that Chicago tried to trade for Mike Tomlin, all I could think was Lovie Smith 2.0. Sure, Tomlin has been marginally better than Smith was in Chicago, but he inherited a perennial Super Bowl contender from Bill Cowher. The dumpster fire was lit in Chicago before Lovie got there.

They could make like the Browns. Stockpile a zillion great picks and then squander them on a sex offender who hasn't been worth the oxygen he consumes.

Third and 10 from the LA 30 and Steeler fans get a Rodgers two yard pass. There's Tomlin playing for the FG, hoping not to lose.
He takes one of the big splash CB signings, Ramsey, and moved him to free safety effectively neutralizing the guy on the field? Ridiculous, but the standard is the standard.
