It just bothers me how , despite a good season , Denver gets laughed off when compared to any one else. When he said the Steelers were ignored, I had to comment.

And the whole " We us" thing, alot of people do that, I don't see the big problem.

The commentator gets paid to speak his opinion. Why shouldn't he say it? If the Broncos prove him wrong, then he is just another commentator whose opinion was wrong. He won't be the first or last.

It was neither the first time, nor will it be the last, that some knucklehead who's paid to make controversial comments says something stupid.

Joey Harrington replaced Charlie Batch replaced Scott Mitchell replaced Rodney Peete replaced Bob Gagliano / Rusty Hilger / Chuck Long.

Add the backups who "contended" for starting positions....Jeff Garcia, Mike McMahan, Gus Frerotte, David Krieg, Andre Ware, Erik Kramer.

I think the Lions have a shot at that badge of mediocrity.

Well, the Bears are done and that's that. I have to get something off my chest, however.

I think it sucks that Orton got benched 'cause Wonderboy Rex came back at the end of the season and had ONE decent game. He came out firing on all cylinders on that first start of his, but tonight he was showing poor decision making skills and some even poorer passing. By the time he got his act together it was too little, too late.

I know Orton wasn't the best, and for all I know he may have lost to the Panthers, too. I would have felt better about that loss, however, because any way you look at it Orton lead the team for the whole season and helped them get to a division title. Then he gets benched at the end of the season because Rex Douchebag decides he's ready to play. I'm sorry, but that's a slap in the face for Orton that he did not deserve.

Kyle Orton never put up the huge numbers, but he was a solid player who performed better than his age and experience normally would. He busted his butt all season to get the job done, and then gets the cold shoulder and has to watch from the bench as some other yahoo throws away the season he helped build. That has to suck hardcore.

Because of several commitments today, I had to DVR the Steelers game. I just got done watching it with a few of my buddies.

Outside of me, and Mike Ditka, NO ONE gave Pittsburgh a chance in this game. NO ONE.....not even the Steelers fans on this board. I sat back and cautioned everyone to watch out for Pittsburgh this week. I even PM'ed "Mr. Colt", Kelly Lee, and said the same. I didn't talk trash or smack to anyone. It feels good right about now. The 2006 Steelers Revenge Tour is now complete since the Patriots could not hold up their end of the bargain. Time to travel to Mile High.

One stat I failed to notice was that Pittsburgh was 4-0 against Indy in the playoffs. Make that 5-0.

This game was NOT about the missed FG by Vanderjagt, it was NOT about the Polamalu overturnd INT, it was NOT about the no-call on Fanecas false start. The game was over by the time all of that happened. This game was about Cowher and the Steelers coming out and playing Colt's football for the first two quarters and shoving it right down their throat with the passing game. Once the Steelers got to 21 points, it was over. Run, run, run, and then run some more. At that point it was Steelers football, and no one beats them when they are playing Steelers football. Oh yeah, the defense was just awesome. Peyton was off today, NOT because he was rusty, it was because he was under pressure all the time.

Nice game to the Colts, they made it interesting. Peyton Manning can take a seat next to Dan Marino now.

Brings up an interesting point. Great QB's who don't have Superbowl rings. I'll add Warren Moon to that list.

Granted, I believe Peyton still has many years of career left. I hope he gets one eventually.

He had his best years in the CFL, where he won five straight Grey Cups. I wouldn't say he was over the hill when he made it to the NFL, but he was about 28 I believe.

I figured as much. I would have to agree with you about being on the list of great QB's without a SB ring. I just thought it would be nice to mention that Warren Moon did dominate the league he was forced to play in for seven or so years. No NFL team drafted him out of college, despite the fact that he was an excellent QB. This thread will get moved to the Lounge if we start speculating about why. :eek:

I read an interesting article that compared Moon's NFL stats to those of Dan Fouts(a first-ballot hall of famer) and made the point that the two were virtually the same player. Maybe Moon should be in the Hall, maybe not, but the numbers are interesting to compare.

Unlike a lot of people who have jumped on the bandwagon I have been a Colts fan from the 1-15 seasons when they totally sucked. Can anyone tell me any players from the 80's Colt's rosters? I can remember guys like Hogelboom, Trudeau, Biasuchi, etc? Can anyone remember Elway whining that he wouldn't play for the Colts like Eli did to San Diego? The Dickerson and George (our T.O.) problems?

You see the success that they have had since Peyton arrived while I look back a lot further than that.

How is it hard? Give me a break.

Did i really break the rules, i didnt say i was for or against, and i mentioned names in jest not negatively or positively.

Also i would like to say. I live in Pittsburgh, but Im Saints(Home Town is New Orleans) and Packers(Im a big Favre head) fan...

I support pittsburgh because its good for my health if you know what i mean:crying:
