I know what you mean about the endless graphis and stuff flying all over the screen. I wish the NFL would let teams broadcast their own games like the NBA, NHL, and MLB do.

You should see how ugly it got last season when i said you cant judge a QB on one season(big Ben), and that Kordell Stewart is proof of that.

They wanted to kill me for saying Ben Ben and Kordell in the same breath(which i really didnt i took 2 or 3 breaths before i even mentioned Kordell)

I can't see how Peyton choked. His line was manhandled from minute one of that game. He can't handle pressure, but his line should give him some time. They only scored that last touchdown because Pittsburgh dropped everyone into coverage and only rushed four. On the last drive they tightened up and brought 5 and 6 guys. Frankly if they had tried to run a couple of times and pick up a few extra yards on the last drive as opposed to three incompletions it would have made it easier for Vanderjadt. Maybe 40 yards as opposed to 47. Bad coaching mistake. Should have played for overtime and not the win.

Not ony a 'shot' James, but the Lions are (sadly) the "Standard Bearers" of mediocrity. Lions fans of course, have to bear much misery as a result.

That missed FG was not far right, it was kicked into another zip code! Yikes. I don't think 10 more yards closer would have made a difference.

So sad to hear Peyton Manning airing out his offensive line in the post game press conference. Especially after what they did for him the other 16 games this year.

I think when you are criticizing blitz pick up, it's more than the O line that bears that responsibility. Blitz pickup failures is what makes great running backs spend time on the bench. I don't consider Edgerrin James great at blitz blocking.

It's the same reason the Steelers use Verron Haynes as a third down back rather than Willie Parker...or why the KC Chiefs had Larry Johnson as the third string back as late as last year.

I think it sucks that Orton got benched 'cause Wonderboy Rex came back at the end of the season and had ONE decent game. Kyle Orton never put up the huge numbers, but he was a solid player who performed better than his age and experience normally would. He busted his butt all season to get the job done, and then gets the cold shoulder and has to watch from the bench as some other yahoo throws away the season he helped build. That has to suck hardcore.

I am sorry SuperDuck but the Bears don't score 21 with Orton. They may get 3 or 6 points but they don't score 21. I cannot understand the mentality behind starting Orton over Grossman. I am not knocking Orton for what he did during the season and getting us 10 wins but there was no threat from the passing game with him in there and the defense won a lot of those games. He did not lose them but he didn't win them either.

Of course it is so obvious from your television screen. Almost makes one think that a coach's job is simple. :scowl: It's easy to pick apart a game given an afternoon. I'm sure Peyton, Dungy, and the offensive and defensive coordinators have watched the footage enough times to realize what could have been done differently. Not as easy to do while on the field and down by 21.

The passing game was the only thing that was semi-working by the 4th quarter. Why try the run when it had been shut down the first three quarters? Case in point, Texas vs. USC, barring Young, USC's defense had all but stopped their running game. So they switched almost completely to what they knew worked effectively against that particular defense, the passing game. Granted, Vince Young's feet helped move the ball so the comparison is not exactly the same, but the simularity is the there.

Not to derail here, but was anyone else shocked that Brian Urlacher was named Def. MVP??? I didn't watch much of the Bears this year, and I do think Urlacher is a very good player, but my image of Urlacher from this season is him squaring up to tackle Bettis short of the end zone back in December and ending up on his backside.

And my most recent image of Bettis is almost blowing the game for the Steelers.

Urlacher was one of the only ones to come and play yesterday. That interception was pretty athletic. Unfortunately Charles Tillman couldn't cover a twin sized bed with a king size bed sheet!!!!!

Valid point. And the interception was great. He's a very good player. But Bettis wasn't named player of the year.

Did Urlacher truly have the kind of year to warrant that accolade? I only saw the Bears once, and the defense got run over. More of a question for Bears fans....

My point was that it wasn't so much about points as much as it was what I thought was owed to Orton. Busting your butt for the whole season and then getting benched for the playoffs is just plain disrespectful. I think Orton was getting better as the season progressed, and he has a lot better presence in the pocket than Rex. Sure, the Bears might have lost just as easily, but Orton earned the right to play that game no matter the outcome.

Urlacher's stats for the year:
Tackles- 121
Passes Defended- 5
Sacks- 6

He was one of the leaders of one of the best defenses this season and during the season they were dominant. Pittsburgh and Cincinnati were the only ones to blow them out. He made plays all year and the overrated chides ceased because he made plays all season. Who else in the NFL played better on D all season long? Polamalu had a good season but he was a rookie. He is a gonna be a good one though.

He busted his butt but he did not really add anything to the offense besides just being a manager of the offense. The NFL is a business though and you can be in one minute and out the next. You don't feel that Rex is better? I want the best player out there and who gives you a better chance to win, Rex or Kyle?
