That was a pretty good game, eh guys? :smug: (<- Had to use the "smug" smiley!) I'm sure I'd be making some ridiculous excuse if Green Bay had lost. :p

Was anyone else annoyed by how "slippery" Ahman Green was last nite? It was either the "slippery" or "make them pay for it" comments over and over again that make me wonder how Madden is considered a premiere announcer.

Yeah, Madden always seems to focus in on one aspect of one guy when he calls games. With the Cowboys it's often about Larry Allen. I'm sure that when the Boys play the Redskins on Mon the 27th Madden will be talking all night about Larry Allen and Flozell Adams and what a powerhouse the left side is.

Madden cracks me up. Last thursday's Pats game... " See, that's what I like, if it's fumble, CALL IT A FUMBLE! that's why we need those rules. Back then it was just a fumble...."

Tampa's got an offense. Granted it wasn't very productive, but they do have an offense. Joey Galloway, Tim Brown, Brad Johnson, Charlie Garner, and Mike Alstot, are all very good/proven players and capable of putting up points. (BTW, I cant stand any of those guys except for Alstot)

I can't help but wonder if Gruden and his infinate wisdom are actually going to destroy the team with all the free agents they now have instead of them rebuilding it. My logic is too many free agent mercenaries on the team now that could very well ruin any chemistry that was there.

It's the defense that was quite shaky and cost them most of the games they lost last year. I can't help but think that the D will fold again this year. (Except when we play the Aints that is. :eyebrow: )

Might be a good idea, Cassa. From the injury reports I've seen at espn.com, the Bucs took it, bigtime;

- Jurevicius, OUT
- Galloway, OUT
- McCardell, OUT
- Pittman, OUT

...all with significant injuries. The Jets really didn't lose anyone, long-term. Chrebet was the only big name I saw and he is listed as "Probable."

But, what the hell ??? Historically, the first game of the season is where all the upsets happen and the teams that end up in the playoffs get on track after an opening loss.

Yeah Rick, The Jets aren't really plagued with injuries the way the Bucs are.

The biggest reason I have an attachement to them is when I was a kid I used to go to Hofstra and watch them practice. I lived in Uninondale and was walking distance to them, so Id go watch them practice, get autographs, things of that nature.

I also like Herman Edwards. I have a great deal of respect for him too. He said that if they didn't make the playoffs last year the 1st person he was going to fire was the defensive coordinator and make adjustments on the D. He did exactly that too. Fired the D-coordinator and got some new defense men to fill the voids.

The main reason Im not liking my team anymore is I dont like that Rich McKay was pressured out of the organization by Gruden, I alo dont like Gruden, (never have) he relies too much on free agents. The Bucs also seem to screw over proven long term players when they're down to the last year on their contract by releasing them. Brad Cullpepper, Trent Dilfer, Tony Dungy, & John Lynch are but a few.

It also seems me and quite a few other people in the Tampa area that it is no longer the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it's more like the the Tampa Bay Raiders now.

4th and goal on the 1. The NFL's #1 offense goes for a FIELD GOAL?!?:eyebrow:
Cullpepper gets a requisite fumble on the 1 yard line.:rollno:
A Cullpepper touchdown is negated due to HOLDING!:mad:

As if that weren't enough, the officials totally blow it on that Owens "touchdown".
Not only did he never have possesion (check the replays folks), but even if he had caught that ball, the ball was a good half a yard short of the goal line when his knee hit.:spit:

Considering how badly the Vikes defense played, the Eagles were damn lucky (including the Owens fiasco) to get the points they got.

I saw one of the best games I have ever seen.

Last Friday night my family and my best friends family went out to see the local High schooll team play, Redlands East Valley, Redlands, CA. REV came back from a 21-7 defecit with 2:48 left in the 4th quarter to tie the game in the last five seconds. There is no overtime in High School so it ended in a tie.

What made it so great was seeing a bunch of kids playing with a lot of heart and not giving up. All the kids families and the other students in the stands were going crazy.

There were no agents, no money, and no selfish attitudes on that field. Just a bunch of kids playing their hearts out.

Again one of the best games I have ever seen.

#1 offense after one week. C'mon, Dallas had the #1 passing offense after one week, they may still have it after two, but that doens't mean much.

No. Mike Tice blew it. After the first replay I saw it wasn't a touchdown. I'm shouting at the TV, and my girlfriend's starting to worry about me. Mike should've thrown the red flag in. He didn't catch it, his bad.

Oh well, now the Vikes and the Cowboys are both 1-1!
