Rodgers will without a doubt walk over the lions this year. He will never succumb to such a stupid injury like that again. Or at least not in the same fashion.

Guys get hurt, it's the NFL, you play who you have and that's how it works. Packers did a great job playing through that and played great in the playoffs, no question. Lions had to play that game without their starting QB too, so what, almost beat em the first time that way too. How did Rodgers get the concussion in the middle of the game? Wasn't it from the inferior Lions D-line beating the superior Packers O-line repeatedly? It's cool, fortunately for you, your GM and Head Coach get it, they drafted O-line along with the Bears cause they saw what they would be facing against the Lions twice a year.

Well the rust season is over and in less than a weeks time we will see who's training camp fired up their personell. Tell you one thing, whoever catches the Lions fresh at the beginning of the season is gonna catch hell. Suh doesn't seem to be fazed about the commish's fines as evidenced by the whoopin' he put on Tom Terrific. Even the Hoodie was seen to be mouthing "damn" after some of those licks.

While I do agree the Lions are a team on the rise, you are placing WAY TOO MUCH stock on the preseason.

Since when does Goodell hand out suspensions to NFL players based on actions before they were even employed by the NFL? This is the part that I don't agree with. As well as his stupid comment about how if Indy didn't do something, he would have. Get over yourself you jerk. (Goodell that is, not you jp58. :) )

I said it before, I'll say it again: Suh better watch the QB roughing, or some interior lineman is going to submarine him to the tune of "Crack! Pop! Aaaarrrgg!" Nothing wrong with being aggressive, just not cheap.

Suh and James Harrison may end up being best buddies this season. Taking turns sitting outside Goodell's office waiting to meet with him to get the amount of their latest fine for another overly physical hit. Then again, Harrison has a bad back now, so I don't expect to hear much from him this season.

My honest feeling is that he is trying to send a clear message to the college ranks that cheating and infractions in college will no longer get a free pass in the NFL.

The college ranks are, for all intents and purposes, the minors for the NFL. They go hand in hand. It would seem a logical process that the NFL would assist in the levying of penalties. Without that gesture ( and implementation ) the power of the governing body for college football would have a very hard time being effective as their current system is reactive and hurts the players that follow in the wake of said infraction, not the one leaving for greener pastures.

The Reggie Bush incident ( a certain coach who shall remain nameless ) and more recently Mr Pryor, had very public, negative press. It ( the negative press ) may not stop, or even slow down, the big machine, but they ( the NFL ) are the standard, and they need to set the tone for this. I have no problems with it whatsoever and applaud his forward thinking. He knows it's not popular, especially in the face of his public image being pretty low, but it truly is in the best interest of the sport of football, not just the NFL.

Just my thoughts.

If the NFL wants it to be like that, then just go ahead and admit that major college football is the NFL minor leagues and start paying these guys while they are in "school". Or, get the heck out and quit acting like they have some kind of jurisdiction to punish players and coaches before they are even NFL employees.

I mean really, did Goodell and the NFL review the NCAA report on the matter and decide on the appropriate punishment, or did Goodell read the ESPN stories like the rest of us and figure "oh hey, I'll ban Pryor five games since that is what Ohio State was going to do"? Again, he's a fool who heeds to be relieved of his duties.
