NFL Week #18 THE PLAYOFFS

That's about a one touchdown difference, that is not what I or IMO what most people would call a huge.
Since the Cleveland beating they allowed:
26 points from Pittsburgh
28 from Indy
24 from Detroit
27 Green Bay
The only 2 teams with positive records they kept off the board to 15 points or less were the Jets and Bears. Considering Chicago is ranked 28th in passing and 22nd in rushing, that's not all that surprising they did that to them.
They also shut the Bills down and kept them off the board. Again, this is really not that impressive, as it's the Bills and they too aren't really anything to absolutely stink offensively.
The only advantage the Patriots have over the Jets this Sunday is at QB. The Jets do have the better defense and better rushing game. Both teams are about equal in the WR department and both teams offensive lines are about equal, though I think the Jets do have a better center and tackle in Mangold and Ferguson.
Chicago better be very careful this week. The worst team to play is one that has nothing to lose and is peaking.
Ravens still have not put an entire game together. First half was pathetic. The stillers will exploit missed opportunities every time. If they play an entire game like they played in the second half they should win.

I wouldda found him and pissed on him what a JO. They still had a chance at the end. GB has a long way to go. I do not think they get past the Bears if they have to play em and come on somebody get rid of andy (fat ass) reid. PLEASE!!!!!
I must say that it is really awesome to see someone who used to claim the Bucs now become the biggest Jets fan. Flop much?
Tip of the cap to Ryan and the Jets. They had a gameplan which they stuck too and really took the Colts away from theirs. Good game.

Tell me about it. I've got a Fri-Sat 7-11 steady gig that I'm grateful for for a lot of reasons: great players, great place, etc.... but last Saturday I had to miss both games, and this Saturday I'll have to miss the games involving three of the four horses I still have in this race while on Sunday I can only cheer *against* the teams I don't like. POOP about covers it. If I have to watch Jets/Pats, the Jets damn well better show up this week... unlike last time they played.
It killed me to see David Akers miss two field goals last night... two field goals that in the end cost us the game, and our advancement in the playoffs. I'm not trying to hang the loss on him, he's a good kicker who had a rough afternoon. I'm just saying those two field goals would have came in handy seeing as how we lost by 5 lousy points. For the 50th year in a row, it's "wait 'till next year" for Eagles fans. Now, if only I could get more Flyers games where I live....

Boy, I don't know how you pin that on Akers. Did anyone see the wind? Seemed like everytime there was a kickoff with the wind, it was a touchback. Can only imagine what it was like kicking into it.
At this point the pack is running on fumes. Wow, Starks. Where does Thompson find these guys. Erased any thoughts that Thompson shoulda signed Marshawn Lynch.

What a great weekend of games! It's fun to watch teams implode when your own team is sitting home realizing that they stink ....

... I know all about the SB slump theory but they looked absolutely lifeless, and that was an amazing display of poor tackling. Also LOL about the officials calls complaints by the NO fans .... as soon as anyone starts using the ref's as the reason for losing, they should just stop yapping and go home before getting totally embarrassed.
Loved the Jets stopping Indy, I'm really tired of the Colts.
I now love the Packers
. Good riddance to Philly, nice job Green Bay, you guys are now my post-season favorites!

If that's the kick I'm thinking of, he definitely did not allow enough for the wind. He missed wide right and the little telltale flag was flying straight out to the side off the top of the post.
Oh I'm not pinning the loss squarely on Akers' foot, believe me. That's unfair to him and gives the rest of a team that didn't show up to play either enough credit. I just thought it was surprising as all hell to see David Akers, one of the best kickers in the league, miss 2 field goals, when he's usually money.
Gratz to the Pack though, they played much better ball than Philly and earned the win, big time.

I just realized that Seattle was the only home team to win this past weekend. Crazy.

Didn't work.
Kudos to the Seahawks and their fans, they showed up to play, the Saints didn't (at least not the defense - the offense looked fine).

While I totally agree with you on all counts - the Saints flat lost that game, there IS validity to questioning a few of the calls;
1) Saints punt in 1st quarter, Seahawks player blocked AWAY from punter, blocker releases him, Seahawks player then RUNS OVER PUNTER. Ref says "he was blocked into the punter"?
Huh??? Change of possession call - should have been 15 yards and a Saints 1st down.2) Seahawks receiver secures catch, both feet on ground, Saints player punches ball out, ref blows whistle and says "incomplete". Again - HUH? Yes, they forced the punt right afterward, but that should have been Saints ball inside the Seahawks 20, not Saints ball on the other side of the 50.
3) Marshawn Lynch's TD - absolutely earned by Lynch. Piss-poor tackling by the Saints (6 missed tackles? REALLY?!?!
). However, a Seahawks player put two full hands dead center between the numbers on the back of a Saints defender chasing down the play and shoved him to the ground.That is a textbook case of an illegal block in the back, and there is no way it was "hidden" - it ain't just me either, the commentators made a point of circling the foul and calling it out. Should have been a 10 yard penalty from the spot of the foul, not a score (however, I don't discount the effort by Lynch, he did indeed earn it).Again, I'm not saying these cost the game, the fact is the Saints showed up and stunk the joint up, but they did indeed affect the outcome.
Kudos again to the Seahawks, and good luck against the Bears.

I for one will not kick you, Gard. You're a proud Saints fan, and I respect that. The Saints are a very good team with some issues that need to be addressed in the off-season. Sounds to me like every other team in the NFL. Buck up, though, the Saints have a lot less issues than, say, the Panthers or the Bills!

Booooooo! Where are the excuses???
Coming from someone whose team was 1000000% embarrassed in the Philly game (not to mention others), I do agree that some calls may change the outcome of ANY game. But those calls go both ways .... Saints safety (forgot his name) pretty much mauled some of the Seattle receivers at least 3 times, yet those calls never came in, either. Some pretty serious holding at the O-line as well, on both sides of the ball.
But I completely agree with your sig, nothing what so ever to be ashamed of .... exactly how I feel about the Giants this year. Completely PO'd with the play of the team, but in general we compete each year, we're never an easy team to beat, got three rings.
Looking forward to a new season next year, and enjoying a no stress playoff season this year where I can just randomly make unsubstantiated comments without having my stink-*** team thrown back in my face
And there is some real good here, the Eagles lost .... almost as good as a Giants win
