NFL Week #19 THE PLAYOFFS

We'll look forward to hosting the Packers...but first things first...let's see what the next 6 hours will bring. After all, you may be playing in Chicago again this year...although you never really know!
Thanks Gard. Though after last night, I think the bigger sham is Matt Ryan in the pro-bowl over Rodgers. Yet, Ryan had a great regular season, and dudes stepping up in the post-season has no value to pro-bowl voting. But Rodgers was > Ryan all year statistically. Better than most QBs.
Big Ben is local, and has a reputation for being a huge D-bag.
Anyway, I couldn't help but thinking.....personal behavior aside, and huge talent undoubtedly....is he possibly the ugliest player in the NFL? Man that's a face only a mother could love.
I don't know, if he ever gets locked up, I'm sure he'll make a special friend or two...

"Matty Ice" is HIGHLY over-rated, IMO, and I don't care what the Falcons fans think. He's a "game manager" type of QB, when he starts to actually try and DO something to influence the game directly, he falls apart (3 INT, one for a TD last night as an example). He's not able to put a team on his shoulders and will them to a win, and I doubt he ever will.
He doesn't stink, but he's not a Manning/Brady/Brees level QB. Rodgers IS, that dude is a freakin' great QB, period. Ryan being in the PB and Rodgers not is yet another travesty.

Does Tony wear make-up? each time the camera pans on him, it's scary. Hell of a player though, too bad he can't pick a winning team.
Say what you will about Roethlisberger, but he does not get the calls that other QB's get. Just a few off the top of my head:
The broken nose by Ngata in the earlier Raven game. Yeah, he got fined, but no penalty.
The shot to the knees when Suggs went low on him last night.
The shot to the head on the fumble when everybody stood around and the Raven picked it up and scampered into the end zone. Yeah, the Raven caused the fumble, but his follow-through smacked Ben right in the head. Most QB's would have drawn a flag on that, but it seems like nobody ever roughs Roethlisberger.
It's always nice to see the Steelers knock off the Ravens; but I don't see them beating the Pats in Foxboro (if the Pats knock off the Jets as I think they will). If the Jets win and come to Pittsburgh, I think the Steelers have a decent shot of winning, despite losing to the Jets earlier.
And I was glad to see Houshmanzadah drop that 4th down pass. He's always whining that he doesn't get enough balls thrown to him. So with their season on the line, he drops one right on his numbers.

Absolutely the better QB is on the team now. Rodgers has played three playoff games in his career, and in two of them, he has stats that Brent Favor never even approached in the playoffs.
Another news flash: the Seahawks need to take the oven mitts off their receivers.

Trufant just got hurt - I hate seeing that. He's a good guy, a Coug, and he's one of the best players on that team. I hope he's OK.

Still sitting here in amazement how the Steelers defense held Baltimore to -4 yards in the third quarter, and only 28 yards in the second half. Lebeau made some great calls in the second half, and his defense delivered.
The 58 yard bomb to Antonio Brown was a beauty. I need to watch the game again and see where Ed Reed was on that play. As Ben launched that ball, I immediately thought to myself that is a pass that Ed Reed can pick off. I did feel bad for Ledarius Webb though. He got burned on that play, and had his go ahead touchdown punt return waved off on a holding call. Poor guy.
Kudos to Ben for converting four third downs of 10 yards or more and for getting in there and fighting for that first down on fourth and a yard, Rashard for running hard up the middle Ll day against the same defense that broke his shoulder two years ago, and the patchwork offensive line that did just enough to get the win.

Oh well, at least they tried. I looked at the scoreboard when it was 21-0 at the half...I gotta admit I was hoping they'd do SOMETHING. That is, besides lose.
