Epic battle for the ages next weekend. It'll be talked about for years. But Chicago is beatable, but that's for the next thread. One more game yet to watch this weekend.

Seattle at Chicago – Seattle. Matt Hassleback has 10 career playoff starts. Jay Cutler has 0. Chicago’s offensive line has been playing much better but is still average at best. Hopefully, Chris Clemons and Raheem Brock will be coming from the edge to harass Cutler and combined with a few safety blitz’s, we should be able to rattle him, and a rattled Cutler is bad news for the Bears.

There is also pressure... Seattle has little to none while Chicago has a lot. Chicago's rich football history and playing at home puts a lot of pressure on Lovie, Cutler and Mike Martz to win against a 7-9 Seahawks team that some would argue shouldn't even be playing in the first place. When Chicago falls behind, the pressure is going to build and mistakes will happen.

Marshawn Lynch should be a factor as well. Not that he's going to have a ton of yards, but he does lower his pads and comes at you. On what may be a slick Chicago surface, his running style should eventually take it's toll on a fantastic Bears defense toward the latter part of the game.

Chicago ’s special teams are fantastic but Seattle’s isn’t bad either and as important as they are for both teams, I think Seattle is going to surprise some.

Finally, my guess is that Chicago spent their week off preparing and studying film of the New Orleans Saints and it's only been Saturday since they've really looked at Seattle.

Pulling for the Seahawks tomorrow against the Bears.

Same here ... I seriously loathe Jay Cutler and the Bears, and hope the 'Hawks have a bit more fight in them to smack his ugly mouf closed!

I hope the Seahawks win as well.

I've been saying all year (since week 1!) that the Bears are far better than they get credit for and there was simply no way they were going to lose to the Seahawks at home. This game was over by halftime!

And I'll tell you what -- The Packers are everyone's sexy pick right now but in the last game, they won the game only on the strength a late-game touchdown that occurred ...

... DIRECTLY after a defensive substitution,
... at HOME,
... in a game that they were playing for the playoffs while the Bears were only playing for pride.

I know this is for the Week 20 thread but for all of ya'll who are jumping on the Packer bandwagon, go ahead and hop on. The Road to the Super Bowl comes through Soldier Field and we WILL be ready.

I agree. The game wasn't as close as the score, but at least in the final quarter the receivers decided to take off their oven mitts and catch a pass now and then.

Rubbish.

As I've been saying all year, the Bears have needed to do two things:

1) Get the O-Line sorted out.
2) Learn (and get comfortable in!) the Mike Martz offense.

Both of these are why the Bears had so much trouble early in the season -- like when they played the Seahawks the first time. Since right around their bye week, the Bears got those two things handled (along with a commitment to running the ball), and you'e been seeing the results ever since.

No magic here -- the Bears are simply a better team than the Seahawks -- especially at home -- especially on 2 weeks rest. Combine that with the fact that the Seahawks played their Super Bowl last week and were mentally/emotionally spent, this game was never in doubt.

As I'm sure you know, Mike, Chicago in mid-October and Chicago in mid-January are very different things. Given where the Saints play, and how their D looked last weekend, I think the Bears would have taken them. Tougher game, probably.

Indeed. I would normally expect Brady to come out firing on all cylinders in the 2nd half and win it, but the Pats' OL looks suspect today so far. This should be a good one.

I really want a SB rematch with Pittsburgh. Maybe they'll only have 11 guys on the field at one time this time (meaning no bad officiating!! - that's right Mike, still holding a grudge!)

You will still have your shot at Pittsburgh in the regular season next year. Remember like how you did the season following the Super Bowl game? You lost to Pittsburgh in that game too.

As a total outsider, reading this thread is hugely entertaining - even more so because for at least 50% of it I don't understand what the hell you're all talking about!

It reads just like the football conversations we have over here. Same old same old... when it comes to football, EVERY fan is an expert (that applies just as much here as it does over there, of course).

So far, I've worked out the following, without really understanding very much at all.

Saints - ouch.
The game between Seattle and Chicago was totally predictable (after it had actually been played, of course ).
The Jets are doing well - I'm pleased about this just because I love New York.

Anyway, carry on having fun, guys.

I might even try to watch some of this sport again (I tried for a while a few years back and could never really get into it).
