Ever since Anthony Smith (no longer a Steeler, but now on the Packers) talked some crap about Brady a couple years ago, there has been very little trash talk from the Steelers in the media. Apparently this is something Tomlin has been able to keep under control, which I am thankful for. Just a couple more ends to tie up with player conduct, and we'll be good to go. Speaking of, I have noticed that James Harrison has taken the edge off how he plays, and look he still had three sacks on Saturday.

I'd still like Ike to stop acting like he is a HOF'er every time he makes a play, but I think that is just how he is. Some guys feed off that. CBS made a big deal about the "head butt", but I think they kind of blew that out of proportion.

Everything he said in that interview was completely true though. You can't fault the guy for speaking the truth.

Everyone did talk mad amounts of trash about the Jets. They were saying things like they're overrated and how they'd never beat the Pats at home in the playoffs. Everyone seemed to think it would be another routing like the Monday night game.

I also remember you and a few others saying something to me earlier in the thread. "This is not the same team the Jets beat in week 2." It would appear that they are indeed the same team as in week 2. :p

I'm not really a huge fan on trash talking, (the interview isn't exactly what I'd call trash talking or classless either), but one thing you do have to admit, is that the Jets did back up nearly all the trash talk that was put out there during the season and especially in tonight's game. The defense manhandled Brady and the Patriots offense throughout most of the game, (5 sacks and 1 INT) and the offense took advantage of that weak Patriots defense by putting up 4 TDS, 0 interceptions, and zero sacks.

Oh Really????? You mean the type of "Smack Talk" where the player doesn't call the other person a A__ Hole? That type of smack talk? Welker was " tongue in cheek" - the Jets were too stupid to go that route.

Come on man, I already said congrats to the Jets for beating the Pats in Foxboro on the Jets' terms, now you are defending the low-class crap they displayed all week?

Act like you've been there before and I mean as a Jets team as a whole.

Thanks man! Nice of you to say. Losing is never fun. Knowing we're VERY lucky to be there takes some of the sting out of it. :D Though... Not getting crushed by the Bears today and at least making a game out of it would have been nice too...

I'm no Jets fan, I was also complimenting the Pats on being better than the Jets at their own game, smack talking.

Regarding the smack-talk, here's my take as an outsider: Cromartie was out of line calling Brady an, well you know. But I thought Welker's stand-up routine was also way out of line. Not only was he making fun of somebody's personal life (not football-related), but he was making fun of the other team's head coach. Yes, Ryan is a loud-mouth who talks way too much, but that was a personal issue that Welker was making fun of. Everybody says how "clever" it was, but I just thought it was tacky and showed a lack of class. And I was surprised to see that coming from a Patriot.

One of the things most people (myself included, even though I'm a Steelers fan) have always respected about the Patriots is that they're a classy organization. I expect them to take the high road and do their thumping on the field. So yeah, I thought Welker was out of line. A lot of you will disagree with that, but that's just my opinion.

I just watched the Bart Scott interview on the field with Sal right after the game. Why are people crying about that? It wasn't classless or below the belt. He's just letting off some steam after being told all week how they were about to get blown out like they did last time.

Nobody other than Jets fans and Patriot haters gave them a shot. Every analyst I've seen on TV and heard on the radio all expected them to lose too. I can't even think of many people on here that even expected the Jets to win this one tonight.

That's the way I saw it too.

He's pissed off. He even said in the interview, "we're ******* pissed off." They have every right to be pissed and everything he said in the interview was 100% true and correct.

For 2 consecutive years now the Jets have made it to the AFC championship game and people still insist that the Jets are overrated and nothing but luck that got them there.

They went 11-5 this year, are ranked 11th overall in offense and 3rd in defense, yet people refuse to take them seriously and respect them as a good football team.

Yet, when teams like the Patriots (who have the 8th best offense in the league and 25th worst defense or Colts (4th overall offense and 20th defense) make it that far, they get nothing but praise and accolades for their abilities.

I'd be pissed off too if I were him.


On a side note:

All week I've heard from legitimate Pats fans and Patriot bandwagoners how the Patriots are going to stomp the Jets again because they're the better team. I am going to clarify something once and for all and end that debate.

Both teams faced each other 3 times this season. The Jets are 2-1 against them this year, so the Jets ARE the better of the two teams when playing each other.

The Patriots were outplayed the -entire- game yesterday, and I loved every second of it.

I saw nothing wrong with Bart's interview either. Some fans are just sore losers, but that's of little surprise here.

I have never liked the Patriots. They are smug, arrogant, and seem to present with this sense of entitlement. That being said, I thought Welker's interview was absolutely hysterical! :D

I'm going to argue that he did. Simply because of how teams kick to him. Plus Daniel Manning is usually the kick returner - the one time Hester was back there to return it was a squib that was tossed back to him for him to try to make something of it.

The whole making fun of Rex Ryan's foot thing has been quite unsettling to me, as well. You don't mess with a man and his wife's bedroom life...that's just abhorrent IMO. I'll be glad when I stop seeing clever magazine covers and the like about it.

I disagree with the bolded part. The Pats do a good job of pretending to be a classy organization. ;)
