NFL Week #2

Well, I was in Atlanta for the weekend going to Six Flags. Lucky me it got closed by the weather, so we found some nosebleeds and went to the Falcons game. :) I'd call it an upgrade. It was a great game, except for the Falcon running game. I was disappointed in Michael Turner.

I have it on good authority Gard goes to 12.

...pfft...

Try I go to 120!!!

:hyper:

;)

And speaking of fun, SPAZZBLOW, how about Bony Homo tonight, one pick 6, and a gift from the zebras to keep another one from being on the board (although the Giants managed to get that 6 points quickly enough ;) ). Man, he can totally SUCK sometimes, can't he? :D

FWIW, the Brees INT was entirely his fault, he threw the ball "flat" and deserved to have it picked. As for being the best ever, naw, not yet. ;) What really make the man great is that he will be the first to take that responsibility for it, and will spend the next week working to not repeat it.

Yes. I think the Aint's are going to find a way to lose this one this week. Philly's D is overall pretty solid, I think they'll pressure Brees into having some fits and making mistakes.

I'm also calling a Jets win in NY over the stupid Pats this week by 3.

I'd like to reserve judgement on the Bucs at Buffalo game, but I think the Bucs can and will take them if the defense comes to play. Tampa's got a good QB, burners for recievers, and so far whats looking like a solid rushing game. If the D steps up then Tampa can and should easily win this one.

What burners? Oh yeah, that Dexter Jackson sure can .....oh wait....

It's gonna be a looooooooooong season for Buc fans. A pass rush would be nice, and speaking of QB harassment, I was very impressed with the Jets today. Good job.

I think that had the refs called interference when they out to have, the Jags game would have ended differently. Might have still lost, but that was pretty much the point of no return.

First time the Jags have EVER had a blocked field goal returned for a TD against them in franchise history.

But at least they were hitting someone. Knocked that ump clean out.

Go easy on him, he's a Yucs fan.

;)

:)

Let him have his fantasyland beliefs, that's pretty much all the TB fans will get to work with this year.

My favorite part of that post was about how Brees was going to get rattled...yeah, that happened.

:rollno:

Jets do look good, I'm not exactly looking forward to my Saints going in there to play them in 2 weeks, and the trip to Buffalo won't be a day in the park either.

Despite a P!$$poor sportsmanship last possible second timeout call by the next ex-Cowpatties coach, they still manage to ride Bony Homo's laser accurate passing (3 INT's) to a last second loss.

Can't think of a better way to open that overblown, overpriced monument to Jerry Jones' overgrown ego, a Cowgirls' loss.

Congrats to the Giants, I didn't call the spread, but I don't CARE, any Cowgirls' loss is a beautiful thing.

All in all a pretty good weekend. Saints win, Cowgirls lose, only thing that would have made it better would have been the Foulclowns losing, but hey, they made it close against a really bad Carolina team, so even that was not all that bad.

I know no one is expecting much from the Broncos, which makes every win special for us here in Denver. The Broncs have a few punching bags lined up before they play a real team, but still a pretty convincing effort against the Browns today. Knowing they don't have the running game to penetrate Cleveland's brick wall defensive line, the Broncos went to the air, again and again and again. With a gimpy-handed quarterback and Brandon Marshall in time-out on the sidelines for most of the first half. It would have been even more lopsided if Matt Prater understood how the wind affects a football and hadn't missed two field goals.

Broncos D is fer real.

I'm predicting Denver Win #3 next week against the Raiders.

I'll agree that it wasn't Turner's finest game. Just wait and see though. ;)

GO FALCONS!

Geez, lotsa hatin going on.

I'm guessing you didn't grow up watching football in the 70's, did you?

;)

I'm STILL P!$$ED that the NFL would let one team market themselves as "America's Team".

As my dear departed mother once said:

"F*** you, I'll pick my own team!"

:D

And doesn't being surrounded by Cowgirls fans in almost any sports bar around the country irritate you? Right up there with all the front-runner Patsy fans (mind you, the true, "I was there when they sucked" Patriots fans are just fine, as are the Cowboys fans that wore their colors proudly in the late 80's/early 90's when they totally sucked).

I'll respect any group of fans that are there through thick & thin, but MOST Cowgirls fans are front-runners, and deserve nothing but my derision.

And for the record, I attended Saints games in Tulane Stadium when I was a kid. I BLEED Black & Gold (real gold, not that yellow stuff some other team calls "gold" :spit: ;) ).

I'm so glad to be a black and gold die hard with Gard!!! Two weeks, 93 points and 9 passing TD's for Drew Brees!!!!

REPRESENT!!!!

:hyper:

...the best thing of all is seeing how well the DEFENSE is playing!

I know a lot of people are looking at final scores, or yards given up (Kolb looked good on paper yesterday, but he got his @$$ handed to him on the field - loved the 97 yard pick 6 at the end for Sharper! :hyper: ). The only stats that matter are time of possession and making sure that the other team scores fewer points than your own offense. They will only get better at this as the season goes along.

The offense is what it is: the best in the NFL, again.

:)
