Cam Newton looked pretty danged good for a rookie facing the Pack

I'm not happy with the Oakland's loss to the Bills, but I am happy with the game. It was a great game. And hey, one of our fast rookies caught a difficult TD pass! That was awesome

Man, my heart just sunk for Jeremy Maclin after he dropped that last pass to lose the game.

Detroit scares the crap out of me. Makes me happy to see them doing well, though

Ooh, I forgot about the Chiefs. You lose what could be a top 5 back in this league, and then you get manhandled by the Lions. I feel for you guys, man. I think the Chiefs are the new Raiders. My condolences :(

The defense really stepped it up midway through the fourth when it looked like Seattle was going to score and break the shutout, but other than that, it was mostly ho-hum to me with the corners getting caught out of position or sleeping on multiple plays. I'm guessing LeBeau threatened to fine everyone if Seattle scored, or offered a big bonus if they kept the shutout. Tomlin is still benching Farrior for entire series, and that pisses me off.

This is going to be a loooooooong year for Seattle fans. I was at least hoping for a competitive year and I'm not even seeing that.

But the Lions are a team that lost six games last year by six or less points without their starting QB for the whole season and without their #1 running back for half of the year. They beat the Pack with their #3 QB playing most of the game. The defense which was dominant towards the end of the season last year was playing with a practice squad set of LB's and DB's last year. This year they have a real good set of LB's (maybe the best front seven in the league) and the DB's are much better.

On offense Staffords ability to thread the needle in the red zone is the real deal. The O line last year was among the best in the league pass blocking last year. To me the only question is can they run the ball? The loss of LaSure in training camp was a big blow. But this is a team being built for the long run so I'm more content with being patient on that end.

I give you all that. For the Pack last year, it came down to one thing: playing out of their minds in the playoffs.

The talk started this morning on Seattle sports radio, bench Jackson for Whitehurst?

Yeah, the Seattle offense is struggling, but has Jackson done a bad job? He hasn't cost them either game, or made terrible mistakes. I like him better than Whitehurst.
