NFL Week 4

The world is upside down. It's truly a horrible place right now. I'm forced to admit, the Bears look like they are for real. They are very unlike that fluke team of a few years ago that went 13-3 (although they lost to the Packers twice), and won on lucky breaks again and again and again. This Bears team is beating people.
Redskins won. What is this feeling? This very weird feeling I have. Is it.....is it.....joy?
I'm not really a Redskins fan but I can't help but feel good when my home team wins.

I can't believe the bears were able to dominate the way the did! the sad thing is that it will take months of winning before they get any respect, i just don't see why the commentators can't admit that they are the team to beat in the nfc thus far. if new york would have done this to seattle all we would be hearing about is how the giants are in the fast lane to being nfc champs 
on another note, what do you think should happen to haynesworth for stomping gurode? i think he should have ben arrested like that hockey player was a few years ago..... he was remorseful in a later interview, but if you weigh 320 pounds and step on someone's face there should be SERIOUS reprocussions, he could have take out guroude's eye or worse......

time Jim McMahon was body slammed to the turf by a Packer
after the whistle had blown and suffered a bruised kindney.
There is no place for that , period!

I think that he deserves at least a 4 game suspension, without pay.
Here are some remarks in the locker room after the game from a local blog:
"I apologized to Andre," Haynesworth said. "What I did was disgusting. It's something that should never happen. I mean, I'm not a dirty player. I don't play dirty. I have respect for the game."
Later on, he said, "When I was sitting in here in the locker room when the game was going on, I was looking at my phone which has my kids on it. I don't want them to have my last name and to think their dad was a dirty player because I don't play that way."
I don't know if he is sincere, or just hoping to lessen the punishment from the league office.

The Bears D did a good job of keeping SEA from getting a rhythm. Once their timing was off, and rhythm couldn't be established, the O faded quickly.
I don't know if Holmgren is going to love a cover 2 after this.
Bears did an excellent job of covering all receivers. No big plays, and many deflections, picks, etc. Great game by the secondary.
I couldn't help watching Tatupu since they kept on showing highlights and replays of him getting burned.
On to a much superior analysis.
O-line did a great job of pass protection, and the backs did a good job of picking up the blitz. Grossman once again quiets the critics. SEA's pass rush was relatively ineffective, and Grossman did make em pay with passes to McKie and Clark.jive1 said:
Harris was just killing up the middle. He was disrupting on almost every play. Just monster. Alex Brown didn't have the game I expected, but I loved watching rookie Mark Anderson blow past Walter Jones for a couple of sacks. This D line is going to be crazy scary.
And that they did. The running game didn't develop at all. Hass was getting harassed alot when the Seahawks had to go one dimensional.
The LBs were killing on the run blitzes, and the deep Bears secondary had a solid game. Two INTs came from the nickelback. Briggs or Urlacher had the slower Engram covered all day.

As I said, I am no big Seahawk fan. I simply stood up for them since the Steelers were off this week.
Well, so much for the Seahawks making a statement on national TV. This is what I get for trying to stick up for another team when my favorite team has a bye week.
I tried to make a case for a Seahawk victory, and they came out after that first drive and got destroyed. They're still one of the top teams in the NFC, I'm just not going to argue on their behalf anymore.

They'll manage to at best stay #2, probably #3, because the Panthers are a better overall team, and will show it as the season goes on. The Saints are more balanced as well, even with the loss in Charlotte this weekend.
Wow, that was a spanking last night wasn't it? I thought the Bears would win, but I was thinking it would come down to the wire... the best teams step up when they have to, and before the playoffs, that means playing big in primetime. So far, the Bears look like the best team in the NFC (with a lot of games left to play).
But how about that Jets-Colts game? If the Jets could get a defense, they might be a real playoff contender... they have some solid playmakers (I don't think anyone thought they did). And Mangini's definitely got a pair, what with his aggresive play calling. It's nice to see a coach that's not afraid to go and seize the win (even if it doesn't always pan out). And the Hook and Ladder at the end!!! That was crazy! Great game.
Hats off the Bills this week for hanging on and beating the Vikings. I watched most of the game (I missed the 'Queens final drive) but J.P. Losman looks more confident than the first couple games of the season (I didn't see the loss last week to the Jets). The Bills defense is pretty good... and it's always nice to see another "L" for Purple Pansy Pickers...
Santana Moss is a stud... a complete stud. Though, Byron Leftwich is a kinda a stud, too. And I'm really glad Clinton Portis is back and playing well... I think even missing the first couple of games, he could hit 1300-1400 yards this season.

The pick by Brees really hurt, but the catch by Colston was great. This kid is huge but fast. I can't believe this kid lasted til the 7th round. He might not have had the 40 time, but for his size he has incredible game speed.
I really thought the Saints could take this game, but we saw the limits of their secondary. Bush has got to learn to not go backwards. This is the NFL, you can't do those college cuts anymore. Besides that, having a "home" and a real QB is really improving them quickly.

That was great. The whole bar was on their feet and making noise for that one. I really thought Coles should have just tried to make a couple of moves and head upfield instead of lateraling the ball to the back.wolfs said:

Moss has been quiet until this game, and what an opponent to show it on. It pissed me off when the announcer was calling it a defensive battle in the 4th. Each team had 30 points for crying out loud!!! If I were a D coordinator, I'd be pissed. Gary Coleman, I mean Byron, played really well. I still can't get over his delivery, but as long and the line gives him the time to do what he needs to do, I guess the coaches can live with it. WAS did a good job stepping up against a top D. I guess playing HOU is a good help for establishing some confidence.
Two teams I hate. I am calling the commish to see if there's a way that both of them can lose.
