NFL Week #6

It is sad. I miss the days of the AFC South being competitive with everybody, not just one another. Bring back 2007. :(

On another note, the Texans are looking to post a season record of higher than .500 this year,　Ｉ　ｔｈｉｎｋ．　I'd say a win against Jax, Tennessee, and Indy are all in order this season. If anybody's set to topple all three in the division, it's them. Especially after how they've been playing.

And I formally rescind my comment that the Titans are poised to be the new AFＣＳ　Ｍａｓｔｅｒｓ　ｆｏｒ　ｙｅａｒｓ　ｔｏ　ｃｏｍｅ．　Ｉｆ　ａｎｙｔｈｉｎｇ　ｉｔ＇ｌｌｅｎｄ　ｕｐ　ｂｅｉｎｇ　Ｊａｘ　ｏｒ　Ｈｏｕｓｔｏｎ　ｗｈｏ　ｔａｋｅｓ　ｔｈｅ　ｄｉｖｉｓｉｏｎ　ｆｒｏｍ　Ｉｎｄｙ，　ａｎｄ　ｍｏｓｔ　ｌｉｋｅｌｙ，　ｉｔ＇ｌｌｂｅ　Ｈｏｕｓｔｏｎ．

Whoa there Sparky, that was impressive, but your boys put those numbers up a against a team that seems to have folded their tent and decided they don't wanna play football any longer!

The Saints just handed the team that just about everyone was calling "the best", and WAS the #1 defensive team, a 21 point buttwhuppin', and frankly, having watched the game, it wasn't even that close, it stopped being a contest in the 2nd quarter in the 'dome today.

When the Pats lay that kind of beating on a team that actually CARES, come talk to me, until then check the record, the Pats have two in the "L" column already, and the team that gave them the first one, the Saints beat by 14....

....we'll continue this discussion in late November, won't we?

...ok, a couple last comments before I head off to slumberland:

Thanks Bears for throwing away three different red zone opportunities, coming away with no points in them (INT, fumble, turn over on downs). However, I'm not at all scared of the Falcons now, because that wasn't what I would call an impressive display by either team.

The Saints have now played three consecutive games against all three of the NY based (well, two NJ, one upstate NY) teams, and swept them. The closest score was a 14 point victory against the Jets. The Saints are the NFL NY Champs. ;)

mmmmmmm quite. i have to say though, i really wish it was @ foxborough... i wanna see how your wet dreamboat brees plays in gail force winds and a snowstorm.

and i'd say that the titans do care... they're just hopelessly inept. infact.. although they lost everygame prior i still didn't think they were really that bad... i mean i really though they must be better than st. louis, tampa and cleveland... but now... whooooiee



there was a reader that wrote in to bill simmons on espn.com that posed a hypothesis that what's happening to the titans is karma for stomping on the terrible towel in last years TEN vs. PIT game.

Nah, cause didn't TO stomp the Dallas Star and then turn around and play well for them? And didn't Philly go to the Super Bowl or NFC Championship or something with him on the team?

I don't recall off hand, but I do remember one underway where 95% of the crew were Eagles fans and were super rabid. I missed the playoffs that year (and several years before and after). Last SB I missed underway was the Seahawks and Steelers, but it was the first one we actually got running score updates for, Also the first of two consecutive Steeler SB appearances where they should have lost, and I rooted against them.

It's really weird, I love the AFC with every fiber of my being, but it seems that I tend to root for the NFC in the SB. Then again, rooting against the Pats and Steelers and Colts is really not doing any harm. :P

well see that was the great thing about the titans... they failed spectacularly across the board. both quarterbacks had INTs, it seemed like everyone that touched the ball inevitable fumbled it (twice on one play even), hell even the punter chipped in with a shank-a-licious 21 punt in the second.

i was in stitches the entire game.

Yeah, those were some tough, hard fought games then. I liked it when any AFC South matchup could end with either team coming out on top. Yeah, my Colts won the majority of them but not always. It sure made for some exciting football!

As far as ruling the roost, I feel the Colts have another 4 or 5 years of dominance (when Peyton retires) in the South before they slide into just another in the pack. Well, that is unless we draft another great QB. ;)

One of them will get a win. Titans play the Rams this year. I pick STL. Bulger is pretty good. I see the Rams actually picking up the pieces and becoming a 5-6 win team, then improving to maybe 9-7 next year, possible playoff team in 2011.
