They were dropped off a bit ago, had to charge them enough to "phone home" and update sw. Got them charged and initialized, trying them out for a bit. Very comfortable, very good sound. I'm impressed. I had previously tried the EARGO MAX about 5 years back, they worked well for the hearing, and were comfrotable, but I couldn't get them to stay charged or clean them properly. These seem much better in all regards.

Initial impression: Recommended.

Yowee. These were less than half that. They don't have some of the fancier features, but they seem to work.

They've got some out now with fancy, customizable EQ algorithms.

(I'm waiting for them to perfect the "Remove Lead Vocalist' setting.)

After getting my HA's,... I was amazed at how loud my turn signal was! And stopping to take a leak in the tiled restroom on the drive home,.... OMG! Sounded like someone had opened the gates to the dam !!!

I have had Starkey’s for about 6 years. Nothing but trouble. Replaced 3 times and repaired 3 times. In the spring I had a trial with a set of Phonaks. The sound quality was so much better. I will be getting new hearing aids in the fall. I will likely trial a t least one more brand. I can safely say I will not lay out $4200 to $6000 on a Starkey product.

At age 69, I finally decided that I was tired of asking my soft-spoken wife to repeat herself, even in our quiet house. I also realized that I was always having to turn up the volume on our TV set and on my wife's iPad, which we use to watch movies and TV series while having dinner. I found a local audiology service that is covered by my health insurance, got my hearing tested, and decided to get a pair of Oticon "Real" hearing aids. They were definitely costlier than I would have preferred, but I got accustomed to wearing them immediately and did not need any fine-tuning adjustments. (The other option recommended to me was Starkey, which would have been greatly covered by my insurance, but a friend had told me he was so dissatisfied with the Starkey hearing aids he got as his first pair, that he returned them in order to switch to a different brand.)

Other than the itching mentioned above by @bholder, my only complaint is that my wife's speaking voice is still relatively quiet and apparently in a range that I do not hear as well as I would like. Therefore, I guess I will need to go have the settings adjusted on my hearing aids to help alleviate that issue. Overall, I wish that I had gotten the hearing aids earlier. I had not realized that modern hearing aids have such sophisticated sound processing, and that so many models are nearly invisible when worn. I encourage anyone else in a similar situation to mine to stop putting off the idea of getting hearing aids.

I also got mine so that I could hear my wife better and not have to constantly ask her “what”
Turns out, still can’t hear her. I have learned she talks to me while facing the other way , or starts talking to me then turns her head away. She also talks fast and crowds the words together , into one word.

I have Costco hearing aids and took her with me. My hearing aid tech listened to her talk and said “you are so screwed”

My first product was an HD100 and last year I got a new HD75R. I've been super impressed with quality I got for the price. I've had to have mine repaired in the past and they have great customer service and the repair doesn't drain the bank account. I would highly recommend.
