NHL 2013 post season thread!

Just an offensive explosion. The Pens scored two goals in something like 41 seconds. Then a little later, they scored two more in something like a minute and a half. Then they were like sharks with a taste of blood. Scored six unanswered after being down 2-1.

Significant achievment for Crosby in game four. He became the fastest player to 40 career playoff goals, beating Jagr's record by nine games. Interesting too how he scored 30 seconds after Dupuis to remain tied for the lead in playoff goal this post season. :)

I've always like Ottawa anyway, but I am becoming more and more a fan of Daniel Alfredsson. Too bad for me I figured him out at the tail end of his career.

I have always like Alfredsson, even though he plays for the sworn enemy. IMO, he centred the best line hockey has seen in the last two decades for several years in the Spezza, Heatley, Alfredsson line. They were scary playing together.

Man the Pens looked impressive last night! As a Bruins fan I hope Boston wins tonight and gets "healthy" (not that anyone can really get healthy this time of year in the NHL on a few days, but..), and have Pittsburgh / Ottawa beat each other up as long as possible..... Good stuff

True, but Jagr has been a HUGE disappointment for me. A shadow of the athlete he once was. The guy can still skate and has great vision, but I don't think he has the ability to withstand a whole season's worth of punishment and enter the Playoffs by elevating his game another notch.

If he decides to stay, perhaps the slower pace of the next season will be kinder on his body, but he'll unfortunately be another year older then. His days as a major offensive threat are coming close to an end.

Unfortunately, he probably will milk it for as long as he can. He might still have the gambling problem that has plagued him during most of his career.

That is the consensus around here. I doubt he will be here next year. He has had some great shots where outstanding saves were made so far in the playoffs, he and Seguin have been a bit snakebit so far. I would love to see one or both score tonight.

Essentially that means a big goodbye for Tortorella once the Rangers get eliminated.

I can't wait to hear what is going on with the Rangers - from here it doesn't look or sound like a united dressing room.

It also lets me quote Animal House again -

Otter - "I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part!"

Bluto - "We're just the guys to do it"

Wings go up 3-1 and Howard gets the shutout. The Wings have allowed 2 goals in the last three games, and have handed Chicago their first three game losing streak of the year. The Hawks have scored one goal on the Power Play in the whole series. Times are good.
