And to think I was paid to play our gig tonight while Boston squeaked our the win!

The loudest applause was during my bass solo which was coincidentally when the Bruins scored the only goal. I knew instantly wasn't for me, rather the Bruins and Adam McQuaid, but I was happy nonetheless. Look out, I may become a diva!
I'm always down for a good old fashioned beat down, even if it is at the expense of the team I like. Impressive series from Boston in nearly every aspect of the game. They looked sloppy here and there, but Pittsburgh didn't seem to play with any motivation to take advantage of it.
In the post game analysis on NBCS, Milbury was calling for Bylsma to be fired. Interesting.
It would be cool to see an original six showdown for the finals. I'll hope for a Chicago win tonight so we can get the party started.

Surprised at how much Boston beat them at their own game. Sure Boston played the tough guy finishing checks etc, that was expected, but they way they weren't doing the dump and chase, and actually were carrying the puck in 3 across with pace, was a surprise. And who will ever forget Campell finishing a shift on a broken leg?

More like Bylsma chose poorly. They basically used Iginla in the worst ways possible and made him learn a new position at the age of 35.

A "nice" irony is that McQuaid's game winning goal was tipped in off Iginla's stick. Check the replay.

And the last shot (that ended in Tuukka's glove) was from Iginla.
Two "U"s, two "K"s, two shutouts, and two goals allowed - from a non-Vezina goalie. Part of his success is the defensive minded system that the B's played, but the system breaks down every once in a while and when it has Rask has come up big.
I don't know how the puck stayed out of the net on the scramble at the end. I think Blysma was hinting it may have been whatever the B's version of the Celtic's leprechauns (or maybe it was the leprechauns who have had nothing to do since the C's went down to the Knicks) keeping the puck out.
It looked like the Pens were a little surprised at how well the B's played in Game 1. The Pens came out very strong in Game 1 but then when the B's took and held a 1 goal lead even with the big effort that the Pens put out, the Pens got frustrated and lost their way in the 3rd period of game 1 and then all of game 2. The Pens got back on track in games 3 and 4 (both of which could have gone either way) but because there is not that much separating the two teams that turned out to be too late.
The Bruins have shown flashes of this level of play during the regular season, but we seldom saw it sustained over 3 periods let alone 3 or 4 games. I like their focus and their chances in the next round.
