NHL Playoff Race!

Well, despite the amazing run by the Oilers, that loss to St. Louis has pretty much ended their season. They still have a chance if they won their remaining games, but tonight they play Dallas IN Dallas. I think it has been 10 years since we've won there.
Isn't it ironic, this year the Oilers will actually not play Dallas in the playoffs, yet their season will still be ended by the Stars....
It's fate I tell you. Either we play Dallas, or the hockey Gods do not allow us to make the playoffs. Of course, if I had the choice between them playing Dallas in the first round or not making it, I'd rather they just didn't make it. It's like watching the same series on video tape over and over and over again which is no fun when your team is the one that loses. I'm at the point now where I could even tell you the exact minute when Dallas will score.

All I was hoping for was to see the Oilers play Detroit. Sure they'd lose, but they would lose in a different way and it would be interesting.
I think the Oilers team right now (post trade deadline) is better than St. Louis, Nashville, and Calgary. If they had this group of players all year long (Nedved, Ulanov, Markkanen, NO Salo) I'm sure they would be in a playoff spot now, and would have pretty good shot at winning a round or two.

I have to say... i am REALLY looking forward to watch any canadia against canadia match up... i really enjoy watching canadian teams go at it... there is something aboot canadian D... i dont like american style of D that most american team adapt... (sharking being exception... they play more of canadian/euro style D)

But ya... very much looking forward canadian match ups... the more the better.. i luv to see those teams go at it always very fun games:]

My opinion-
Everyone plays the same "boring/play-it-safe/stay-at-home/let the other guy make the mistake" Devils' type of "D".

Thank you, Gary Bettman for rampant expansion & the resultant...a diluted talent pool.

I was playing a gig in Edmonton in '02 when the Oilers were in the playoffs that season. They were playing at home that night. I felt so bad for the opening act. The whole crowd was watching the tv monitors around the club as the opener played. It was weird hearing spontaneous applause in the middle of the openers songs.... "great solo. ...uhmmm... no.... great shot!"

The coolest part was at the end of our set. Unbenownst to my band, Ryan Smith and his crew came to our gig after they finished their game. Got to hang with Smith for a bit in our dressingroom and I must say he personifies the Canadian Hockey player. Humble, low-key and very cool to hang with. But don't F with him!

A great memory. Oh yeah, the Rangers need new owners and management!

I said it before and I'll say it again...

as long as no one on the leafs has a heart attack, stroke or dies of old age, The leafs are gonna pull some magic this year

... ain't I the typical leaf fan?

I have the same feeling aboot leafs... i kind of want them to win it... i am not their fan but i like em:P

PS GIVE Owen BACK !!! I DEMAND IT NOW!!! HE IS OURS...
and i woulden't mind Bryan McCabe as well:] he is great:]

First of the last two games for the B's is today. Both games are against the Devil's, however. I have a feeling the outcome of these games could predict how well the Bruins do in the playoffs. Especially with the Devils style defense ("the trap" :o ) they are up against.

No other explination is needed.

Except "What are we gonna do about Datsyuk and Hull and Zetterberg and Draper and Schneider and Lidstrom and Shanahan and Lang and Dandenault. And if we figure that out, then how we gonna deal with Yzerman and Hatcher and Fischer and McCarty and......sigh :bawl: "

Wings do it again.

Peace,

James

Some great matchups in the East.

Philly backs in as the #3 seed; their reward is a 1st Round with Joisey.

Devils in 5, maybe 6.

Wishful thinking??? i acctually think philly will take devils... i hate devils D... you just need a goalie:P no offence but give me a brake... maybe put Antero Niittymaki in net... 24spg 1gapg and others who played most have 2.5gapg... cmon let the man go at it... :]]]
