NHL Season 2018-19

True. It's like for 2 weeks the top 6 went missing and all the scoring was done by the bottom 6. Now the top line is barely contributing with Ovie scoring a couple of power play goals with the PP being all but dead. There's a lot to turn around. Lets see if they're up to it.

After losing to the Kings and then the Sharks, I'm thinking the Pens should've cut their California road trip short after the Anaheim win. They spent all their offense in that 7-4 win against the Ducks...twas nothing left for LA and SJ. 
Penguins trade Derek Grant to Anaheim for forward Joseph Blandisi
The Penguins sent Derek Grant to the Anaheim Ducks for Joseph Blandisi in a deal announced just after 1 a.m. Eastern time.
Blandisi, 24, has spent most of this season with the AHL's San Diego Gulls, recording eight goals and 23 points in 26 games. He has played 74 career NHL games with Anaheim and New Jersey, posting eight goals and 26 points.
He is expected to join the Penguins in Arizona later Thursday.
A 52-goal scorer in his final season of junior hockey, the 6-foot, 192-pound Blandisi has played as a bottom-six center and left wing with an edge to his game in limited NHL duty.
Grant, 28, left Anaheim to sign with the Penguins as a free agent in July but has found playing time scarce. He has two goals and five points in 25 games.
Brassard is the center who has found himself mentioned in trade rumors lately.
According to multiple reports, the Penguins are shopping Brassard in an effort to upgrade at the third-line center spot. Having recorded eight goals and 14 points in 37 games this season, Brassard has been an awkward fit in the team's lineup.

Crap! I liked Grant! Big guy, could skate well, another one that just needed more ice time. I know nothing about Blandisi but maybe we'll see him Friday night against the Yotes.
Most of the Flyers games this season have not been much fun to watch. But this was. Love how they fought back after going down 0-2 (again). And I always enjoy seeing Couturier doing well. His first regular season hat trick (although he does have two in the playoffs). One of my favorite Flyers. van Riemsdyke had a hat trick the previous game. Glad to see they're finally starting to score some goals...Quite a game going on in Philly tonight.
Me neither, but from what ive heard on the radio today he has a reputation as a Hornqvist, Jarrko Ruutu, Arron Asham (remember them?) type agitator. Im ok with that.

me too. Hated him when he was a Flyer, but that changed real quick when came to the Pens. Of course thats happened quite a few times over the years.

That sentiment started happening back with the Kindrachuk/Bladon/Lonsberry trade back in the mid-70s. Happened again with the Recchi/Tocchet trade too...hated Tocchet in orange but he became my favorite NHLer the second he was wearing black & gold back in Feb '92. (probably the only time two guys with consecutive cc's in their names were traded for each other!

Wow, Asham. I forgot about him. He was a tough guy and he'd make opponents pay. I don't remember who it was now he knocked out and skated by the opposing bench making a gesture like the guy was sleeping.
I sure miss that guy too.

That was Jay Beagle of the Capitals.
I actually like Beagle's game but still to this day I think of that incident whenever I see him play.
Kinda like Robin Ventura of MLB. Had a decent career but all I remember is when he charged the great Nolan Ryan on the mound and the 40-something Ryan put Ventura in a headlock and taught him never to mess with that old guy again.

Waddaya know! Silly old Panthers actually won one. I'm pretty sure there were at least as many Leafs sweaters in the crowd(I use that term loosely)as Cats.
Yeah, I remember him doing that; but I thought it was while on his way to the penalty box. I liked him because although he was a bad-ass, he fought fair. I never saw him keep going after somebody when they were down. But I did think that "sleeping" move was a bit classless because the guy was out cold.
EDIT: I replied before I scrolled down and saw that somebody posted the video. Poor Beagle was out of it...

If you look closely, you'll see he held the back of the guy's sweater to keep his face from slamming into the ice.
