NHL Season 2018-19

WOO HOO! I think I'm actually more psyched at Washington getting bounced than I am when my team wins! Seriously, that was a Game 7 to remember. Caps just didn't look sharp (except in small spurts) and Carolina surprised me with how many chances they created (but couldn't finish).

You can never relax when the puck is on Kuznetzov's stick and he had more chances than the rest of the team, IMO. Thankfully Mrazek was up to the task, and with a little help from the post (and McGinn!) they were able to keep the puck out of their net. Williams showed tremendous class after the game, by not smiling ear-to-ear in front of his former teammates. Funny how us fans loathe a guy when he's wearing one uniform but love him in another. Very impressed with the Canes offense.

I thought the caps looked tired in ot last night while carolina really came alive as the game went on.

I can't say I'm happy with all the results, but so far round one has been pretty great. I don't think anyone had Isles, Canes, CBJ, Avs, Stars moving on.

I guess the odds favorite is SJ now?
No way I can root for the Sharks, so I'm hoping the Stars (or Blues) come out of the West. In the East, I don't really see the Jackets going much further but then again, few (if any) of us saw them sweeping the Bolts, either. For the time being, I'll be riding their bandwagon along with Carolina's.

Sheesh...looking back to my predictions (post #1277)...I picked ONE series right (Boston over TML). Thing is, I've got a lot of company with missed picks this playoff season. Definitely an upside-down post season so far! :D

It's funny, but with my team and my most-disliked team out of the picture, I can actually look forward to watching the rest of the playoffs relatively stress-free. Sounds odd, but whatever happens from here on out happens, and may the best team win. I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy! Game On!

Oh I want to see the sharks fail, even though it means rooting for the avs. I just thinks that Vegas has them as the favorite now (the sportsbooks, not the Knights).

Only team I like at all left in the West is the stars. I really like Seguin and Benn. Hopefully I can see a Stars/ Isles, Canes, CBJ cup final.

I would definitely get a kick out of Trotz going back for a second year while the Caps are sitting on the couch.

Boston is beatable but I heard or read something that is working in their favor - when most teams are losing players from their roster, the B's had so many injuries late in the year that they are actually gaining depth as the SCP go on as guys have time to heal.

It was also good to see Sweeney's mid-season acquisitions, Coyle and Johansson, contributing .

One of the most amazing things to me about the SCP is when teams get bounced and half the players end up getting some sort of surgery or major medical procedure. Hockey players are insanely tough.
