NHL Season 2019-20

Opening day for the WJC.....some GREAT hockey today, these kids can really fly. Something tells me that CAN-USA may happen again later in the tourney.....
Went to an ECHL game tonight(instead of The Trop): Orlando Solar Bears vs Jacksonville(FL) Ice Men. Ain't nuthin' like live hockey!

Hey GP, next spring The Brat is going to a concert where the Panthers play. How far from Tampa is that? Any concerns about parking or safety?
Hmm, prolly about 180 air miles; 250 on the road. Roughly 100 from where I live(Stuart, FL). My daughter and I are going to the VGK/Panthers game 2/6/20. Plenty of parking, safe area. We're prolly gonna get a room for the night nearby to avoid the late night drive. I hafta go to Orlando to pick her up, then back to my house, then to the game-long day.

B's are back on track with second win in a row. First they blew out the Caps and last night a more workmanlike 3-0 over Buffalo. Chara came back 4 days after jaw surgery (correcting issues from last year's jaw surgery). The B's were missing their two best puck moving defensemen in Krug and McEvoy, but they kept it simple and Halak came up big when needed. Bergy got the first 2 goals with hot pink toenails courtesy of his young daughter. If he were a baseball player, he would be stocking up on nail polish and trying to figure out how to bring his daughter on the road.

:eyebrow::DNo, sports guys don't have superstitions.:rolleyes:

The Pens sweep the home and home with the Preds, but they're fortunate Rinne didn't start tonight.
After running out to an early lead, the Pens let the Preds back in the game and had to play tough to get the game winner and then the empty netter to seal it.
Janky Johnson was only a minus one, but his flat footed behind was standing around the ice on more than a couple Pred goals.

I don't know why, but I really dig watching hockey in the morning. There's a couple good games on right now.

Agreed.

That is actually how I got hooked on soccer. Waking up early on the weekends, hours before the NFL pregame shows, one day in 2012 I landed on NBCSN, and figured I'd give the Premier League a try, since it is ungodly popular worldwide. (Despite rarely ever having watched soccer before nor knowing anything about it.) Within a few months I was actually spending more time watching soccer than hockey and football combined!

Well bummer. The Pens lose Jake Guentzel to a shoulder injury that required surgery. He'll be out 4-6 months.

Ouch, that definitely sucks for our Pens, as he was the most consistent of the forwards this season. But I gotta give him props...he finished the play and tapped in that goal mere milliseconds before smashing into the boards. What a gamer! :thumbsup:
