Once a great player, now a mere shadow of his former self. Kind of sad... I always liked the guy.
Well, the Leaf's seem to be tracking in the right direction to make the playoffs. They got a hard road to till, but they seem much more motivated to do so of late. If they could fix their back-up goal tendy situation, that would also be a move in the right direction.

Tonight, the Pens shut down the leagues top power play (to be fair, Edmonton only had two PP's) no name guys continue to make plays. Not a peep from McDavid
Malkin took charge on the ice a few times, which was nice to see.
The Western Canada road trip goes on with a visit to Vancouver Saturday night and a Murray start.

Murray excelled in the past when being pushed by Fleury, but Jarry is no Fleury so we'll see how he responds.

The hopes and dreams of a Pens five game winning streak going into the holiday break and a sweep of Western Canada were dashed and smashed by a Canucks team that was ready and waiting.
The Canucks played big, physical, and slow hockey. That's what it took to beat the Pens.

Well, that was more exciting than necessary, but maybe they can score their way out of trouble. Did not want to comment on Keefe to early, but he does seem to have them playing more to their strengths than forcing them to be what they are not.

Ah! Will be spending delayed Christmas with my daughter who has to work Christmas Day-at double pay. Going to a Holiday festival thing-y at Tropicana Field(I think).
Opening day for the WJC.....some GREAT hockey today, these kids can really fly. Something tells me that CAN-USA may happen again later in the tourney.....
