NHL Season 2019-20

Can a goalie both cost you a point and save you a point, all in the same game? Sure can, just look at what Freddie did last night against the Jets! I have been saying the same thing for years now, Freddie should NEVER play the puck outside of his crease, he's a give away machine and the puck seems to always end up in his net! That was a win-able game last night.

Yeah, should have got both points out of it...not all on Freddie though, JT with two very uncharacteristic giveaways did not help.

You'll note that JT has been struggling since he had Mitch taken away from his line and Willy Boy added. It looks to me like JT is trying to do two jobs, his and Willy's in the defensive zone as we all know that Willy doesn't even know it exists!

After eight rounds in the shootout, the Pens skate out of Glendale with the two points.
Unlike the Colorado game where they gave up a late lead and still won, this time they had to score late to tie it and then win.
The Pens continue their dominance of the western conference by sweeping the three game western swing.
Back to Pittsburgh they go where a home and home with Boston awaits them next week.

Plans are afoot to go to to BB&T Center 2/6 for Knights/ Panthers game. My daughter will be wearing her Fleury Jersey. I'll most likely wear my "Spaceballs, The Hockey Jersey" jersey and "Spaceballs, The Hat" cap. (No pic of the cap)

Bruins. 0-7 in shootouts, not much better 3 on 3.

Last night was a new low. Ever wonder what happens when a player just forgets to scoop up the puck at center ice during a shootout? Brad Marchand found out last night.

Not that he would have scored, anyway. They never win in a SO. Props to the Flyers on a gutsy game last night.
That was some game. I was ready to write off the Flyers as dead after Boston was up 5-2. But all of a sudden, they were even at 5-5. Provorov was robbed in OT by an amazing save by Halak as time was expiring.

In the Shootout, I kept saying, where's Konecny?! Finally they gave him a shot in the 5th round and he scored. And yeah Picton, Marchand had a chance to tie it. I've seen guys lose the puck on shootout attempts, but I don't think I've ever seen anybody do it on the initial pickup at center ice. Had he missed the puck altogether, he could have circled and kept going; but he touched it just enough to move it about 2 inches. Game over. Hard to figure how the Bruins can be 0-7 in shootouts with all that talent...

Fortunate to be at the game tonight. Geno straight beasted, but Sid still deservedly got the #1 star
Early on Jarry made some great saves and a couple of defensive maneuvers after the backcheckers had a brain fart. Think it was Rust who passed it behind his own net to nobody, and Jarry's quick reaction knocked it away form a waiting Wild forward.

Games like this one only solidifies Sid's place among the greatest-of-all-time players. Misses 9 weeks, and comes back as if he hadn't missed a shift. No rust or cobwebs to shake off.

And the fact that it happened against notorious Pittsburgh-hater Boudreau makes it even more pleasant. :D

While I'm not a Pens fan, I'm glad to see he's back. I wanna see the best players on the ice. Even s/o expert Marchand.:p

Another entertaining game tonight. Flyers at St. Louis. Flyers were up 3-1 in the 3rd, but the Blues tied it up. Flyers won it in OT on a nice goal from Gritty. (Er, I mean Voracek!) :D

Their last two games were Shootout win vs. the Bruins, and now an OT win over the Blues. Two very good teams that the Flyers were able to come out on top against. Which they really needed after that disastrous long Western Division swing... :rollno:
