Not a bad little road trip, 4 games, 8 point, all in regulation time, 18 goals for, 4 against.
Ouch.
Might be time for the Flyers to fire Vignealt, and his right-hand man, Michel Therrien. Under Therrien's tutelage, the Flyers power play is something like 3 for 47 or something woeful like that.
Lots of injuries, but something needs to be done to shake things up. In the "Worthless" category for players, I'd put van Riemsdyk, Lindblom, Yandle, Brown and Thompson.

I don't know what it is about Michel Therrien. He did mostly good things in Pittsburgh. Then he did mostly good things in Montreal. I don't know why he can't sustain it.

Time for Flyers to trade Claude Giroux and launch a full rebuild
Despite being a Flyers hater and no fan of Giroux, I do respect his game (when not playing the Pens
). As an objective hockey fan, I can't agree that this idea would really have long-term benefits. Because almost every contender's cap is practically maxed out, you would have to take on some spare parts (i.e. salary) from other teams along with those coveted picks and prospects. And he's not waiving his NMC to go to Arizona.
Kind of what I did with post #150. Elated that the Pens played a great game in MTL winning 6-0. A week later, the Canadiens return the favor in Pittsburgh 6-3. I never should have mentioned the big win!

Giroux and the goalies are among the few who really seem to give a consistent effort lately. I'd add Laughton, Farabee, and even Zach McEwan to that list also. McEwan might not be much of an offensive threat, but he gives his all on every shift. Yandle looks like he's trying to skate on MY old knees out there. Even Couturier doesn't look like himself lately. Not sure if he's playing hurt or what.Saw this article this morning...

The time has run out in Vancouver for HC Travis Green and GM Jim Benning. From what I've read, sounds like the players were tuning out the coaching staff and were not on board. Still, seeing Petterson, Boeser, and others in prolonged slumps this season wasn't helping either.
Well, my friend, you called that one. As of today, Mike Yeo is taking over on the interim as both Vigneault and Thierren were shown the door.
