There's an article out there implying that former Flyer Kevin Hayes had a lot to do with Gauthier's attitude toward the team. Kind of sickening what some fans are saying to Hayes (they're glad his brother is dead) over his alleged influence on the kid.

He sure does seem to have a shelf life with teams! Looking forward to him getting canned again as I really enjoyed his take on the game as a tv commentator.

Tortorella went off on the guy who reported that. Said Kevin Hayes is a good man who does not deserve the treatment he's getting. Torts was a bit more colorful with his commentary however.

This is a day late, but I have to give kudos to Nathan McKinnon. On Saturday, they beat the Flyers. But late in the game, Nathan McKinnon and Logan O'Connor had a clear path down the ice toward an empty net. Both of them had two goals at that point in the game. McKinnon had the puck, but unselfishly dropped it to O'Connor so that O'Connor could pick up his first career hat trick. It was clearly McKinnon who had possession of the puck, but he gave it up for his teammate. Very classy move, Nate!

Malkin hasn't given two craps about playing hockey for several years now. I was hoping this new ownership group would see it and send him back to Russia or some other NHL team, but they too seem enamored with the Malkin from the 2000's.
