NHL Season 2023-24

Congrats to the Bruins for their victory over the Leafs.
Stupid Leafs
Toronto got out goalied, with Samsonov frozen like a table hockey goalie on Pasta's goal.
Toronto got out coached as well, putting out the 4th line right after the Leafs score the opening goal of the game. They had to know that Boston would come out flying trying to tie the game up.

Isn't your fourth line supposed to be your best defensive line? In theory that should not have been a bad choice. Maybe it says a bit about the fourth line players they have.

One last cheap shot and I'll stop. This was the only one that was not inappropriate.

Florida will be again, relying on goalie Bob to get them to the next round. If I recall correctly, last year, after a long gap between games, Bob wasn't so great. I am wondering if he takes a step back this round after sitting for so long?
We'll see tonight.
And yes, as a Leaf fan, we are quite accustomed to any and all shots fired our way! Heck, we do it to ourselves! Have at 'er!

Some of the cheap shots fired on social media by your own. Fanbase were pretty salty. :roflmao:

That said, playoff futility is very frustrating. Boston, seemingly owning you guys in the playoff is just a statistical anomaly that's become in a way kind of funny.

So now that your leaves r out, who do you have picked to win the cup?

Boston fans are like this, too. We get touchy when other towns pick on our Bruins, but only because we like to pick on them harder. It's the mark of a great sports town and a strong, passionate fanbase when they can get frustrated with their own team like that.

For my part, I like the Leafs and I'm glad they played well. If they'd won that series, I'd have hammered the Bruins mercilessly but the Leafs would have been deserving winners. And I'd never say that about the filthy Habs; as a Bruins and Kings fan, I have no patience for the Canadiens.

Is it just the color scheme that's familiar? Either way, welcome aboard

We lived in New Hampshire from 2011-2013. Catching a Pens game on the TV there was nearly impossible, but NESN was free. I watched game after game of the Bruins because back then I was still a big time NHL fan. I watched the weekly shows about Bruins hockey. Chara, Krejci, Bergeron, McQuaid, all guys I enjoyed watching play hockey. Even Lucic.
Soon I started to totally enjoy Jack Edwards calling games. I found out that Brad Marchand really isn't the terrible player others made him out to be. I worked around lifelong Bruin fans. I developed a respect for these folks because they not only liked the Bruins, they knew hockey. Being a Bruin fan was a family tradition, which I was familiar with coming from Central Pennsylvania.
Sure, I came across some loudmouth jerks, all teams have fans like that, but the majority of folks I met living in New Hampshire were good people who liked NHL hockey and the 'Broons'. The final thing to seal the deal was the wife started watching hockey with me. She liked the Bruins for the bear, and they were good. Then we started going to college hockey games too, which I like better than the NHL now.
I've really mellowed as I get older. I don't hate any player or team. I just don't have it in me to foster any kind of feelings like that anymore after doing so for years and watching what it did to me, although I do smile when the Flyers lose. :). I want to watch good hockey. If I happen to have some kind of connection to the team that wins, great. If not, that's fine too.
