NHL Season 2023-24

Bruins played well last night. I was definitely rooting for them and saw a better game than I expected. I live in South Florida now, but I am a native Michigander who lived in Massachusetts through the 1970s.
We are Wings fans in this house, but I have to root for other teams in the off season, at least for now.
I'm hoping to see Boston go to the finals against the Oilers, Vancouver making it would not hurt my feelings either.

Three quick observations:

1.The B's have been lucky/good in not letting any games get away from them early. FLA came out flying and easily could have had a lead. Swayman was huge.

2. The B's have been great about getting the quick response goal. They did it a few times against Toronto and again last night. My dad, who is the rare native Quebecois who is not much of a hockey fan, called it in real time.

3. ESPN did a good job on their sound levels. I went to a game in Sunrise once and the sound effects and music are deafening. You want some live sound in the TV feed, especially when the crowd gets into it, but not every panther roar at 100+ db.

I was so aggravated at the McEvoy turnover that led to Florida's goal that I switched channels and started watching Gladiator. LOL. Said to myself that if the B's didn't answer back quick, the game was over. 5 minutes later I checked the score ticker and saw they tied it. Checked back 10 minutes later and saw the B's ahead 3-1. That's when I figured I might as well finish watching the movie, superstitious about luck as I am.

I only caught the last 12 minutes of Bos-Fla. That was pretty ugly. FLA appears to be going with the strategy that worked last year. Maybe it will work again. However, this is a healthier, more physical Bruins team than last year. Can't wait for tomorrow's game.

Well, yer entitled to think that but. In the Boston box B4 that altercation, Pasta was telling the coach he was gonna go after Tkachuk, so...
Yeah, pasta came off the ice after one shift and decided he needed to punch a Tkachuk in the mouth. None of that happened in a void. Chuck started running his mouth from the puck drop and he's always been a jerk so nobody's really surprised by that.

That said, we were all pretty sure this series was going to get really physical to start with so here we are
