Probably because the next closest venues would be Carolina or Nashville? There are hockey-lovers everywhere. You're blessed to have two good teams in Florida.
Hah! Or Texas.
We go to the Stars AHL affiliate games sometimes. Fun and cheap and it's closer than Dallas.

In my mind, football shouldn't be played in Florida. It should be played in the fall against a backdrop of trees changing colors on a Saturday afternoon with temperatures between 40 and 70 degrees. Yet, Florida high schools and colleges produce a disproportionate number of pros. I blame Gatorade, artificial lighting, and air conditioning for this disturbance in the natural order of things.

Big whoop! It was 86 years for my Red Sox and 107 for the Cubs. Perhaps the Leafs should hire Theo Epstein?
At least the Sox redeemed themselves and made it worth the wait. Maybe the maple leafs are on the once every 107 years plan
Ought to be interesting to see what moves the Bruins make in the off season. If not for Swayman, they'd have been toast early, so obviously they need to bolster other aspects of their lineup. Swayman may be looking for a payday that the Bruins can't meet, in which case they keep Ullmark and a backup from the AHL. They'd then need to add front end scoring talent and defense to take the heat off of goaltending. I"m hoping Swayman stays, though. He's really stepped up.
I think Grzelcyk goes the way of Tory Krug...small D-men don't cut it in the playoffs. They have quite a bit of cap space, so they should be able to make some impactful moves. I'm guessing we'll see some moves pretty soon, or right after the Cup finals.

He's an RFA, and I can't see them letting Swayman go anywhere. The hard task will be getting Ullmark to waive his 15-team NTC.
Somewhat surprised they haven't had any talks with DeBrusk's agent as of yet.
My sentiments exactly...Oilers really didn't make me go 'wow'.
Vancouver did an amazing job getting this far with a backup goaltender. Although Silovs stood on his head, I'm thinking having Demko between the pipes would have made a different outcome. And not having Boeser in game 7 didn't help the 'Nucks. Was hoping Petterson would have picked last night to break out of his funk.

Florida is their model - graceful brutality.
Of UFA's, I hope they keep Heinen and Forbort. I agree with Jim that Gryz is likely gone and I would add Lucic.
DeBrusk played well in the SCP, so he might have priced himself out of town.
That leaves Maroon, Van Reimsdyk, Shattenkirk.
At this point, I guess I'll root for the Oilers; Canada should get to keep the Cup every couple of decades or so.
