I see the Sharks have won three in a row twice this season already, plus twice in a row once, so at least they are slightly better than the Blackhawks at getting winning streaks going...

NHL Season 2024-25

Agreed. Of course, I though the same thing two seasons ago when Seattle bounced them in the first round, and last year after steamrolling Winnipeg in the first round. Hoping they can at least take the West this year. Perhaps their goaltending changes this year will make the difference.
Colorado had each of the new guys get a point after coming back from 4-2 to win 7-4

Saw an article speculating about how Pastrnak must feel at this point. Seeing Marchand, Coyle, Carlo, and even Frederic all shipped out couldn't have been anything but gut-wrenching.
So Rantanen accepts less money from Dallas than Colorado allegedly offered. Yeah, the lack of State Tax makes a difference in his net income, but geez.
Wonder if Carolina will make another big splash in the trade market next season. 0-for-2 when landing a superstar.
Say what you want about Dubas, but flipping Schenn, getting a 2nd rd pick for Beauvillier, and getting two NHL-ers (Timmins/Dewar) for a single 5th rd pick, all bodes quite well for the Pens future. Unfortunately it doesn't do much for this season or next, but with 30 picks in the next three years, we might be a contender by 2032.

As for Dewar and Timmins going to the Pens... the Leafs needed salary cap room for recent signings. Timmins is a 7th or 8th defenceman. He plays tough, but makes too many mistakes in his own end. The Leafs will likely miss him down the road. Dewar as we say in our house, can't get'er done! Sure lots of skating and running around, but no results! Can't say the Leafs will miss him much.

Knew it was a cap dump but figured Timmins would be a decent pickup. I remember he had all kinds of upside coming up with the Avs, Yotes, then on to the Leafs, but yeah, never quite lived up to the billing.
Dewar, as you write, "lots of skating... no results", then he'll certainly fit right in with our bottom six!
Gotta give props to the Bruins for their big comeback against Florida. Even though Marchand wasn't playing, they weren't about to lose that game.
And so typical in Pittsburgh...Pens lead the entire game, but let in the equalizer with six seconds remaining. Only this time they pulled through with a rare OT win instead of the usual tail-between-the-legs OT loss.
And holy crap... Ovechkin actually passed up an empty-net opportunity, instead passing off to a teammate so that guy could complete his first ever hat trick. That happens as often as a snowstorm in June.

LOL. Yep, when we've NEEDED him to play up to his potential, he falls flat on his face. When we wouldn't be too upset if he played crappy, he plays like a Vezina trophy candidate.
