No "Clack" Strings for ABG

I have a fretted ABG with under saddle piezo and an internal endpin mic. I love the tone of it with phosphor bronze strings but the "clacking" on the frets is really off-putting. It's better with the internal mic rolled down or off but the "clack" is still there and annoying.

I was thinking of trying the LaBella Gold White Tapes. I know they're 80/20 brass (not phoshor) but any thoughts or suggestions before I take an expensive tryout?

I just run regular flats. I have TIs on my Charvel currently that sound great. Maybe not that loud acoustically. I have also used tape wounds. They will be even quieter still, acoustically but should sound good plugged in. I really like the Labella Whites that are the brightest and sound like a worn roundwound. Just a regular round might also be a little less clangy

I have used those and although the finger noise is a bit less, they seem to make just as much fret "clack" noise. Plus I actually prefer the tone of the DR Rare that are on the instrument now.

I have done something like this by trying SIT Silencers. They are better in terms of noise but IMO really lack the midrange of phosphor bronze.

In that case different strings will only bring incremental improvements for you. You will get more out of working on EQ and technique/setup. Maybe it's even worth swapping your current nut and saddle for adjustable ones.
