Noble Amps Preamp

here's mine on the Metro 20. As you can see, plenty of room. And I would agree that if the EBS flat cables are used it would be pretty easy to get this on an 18" board ... might be a bit of a squeeze on a 14" board. This set-up is quite a reduction for me considering I was coming off a much more loaded up Pedaltrain Classic 1 with several more devices parked on it. I like this format because I can still put another small/medium format pedal on there without it being really over-crowded.

there was also a Berg IP cabinet floating around here f/s recently, as well as a Barefaced FR cab. Both are excellent powered cabs.
I think the Noble DI would work well with both of these cabs to make a great sounding, very portable modular rig.

note: I have no connection to either seller of the cabs I mentioned.

After receiving my Noble 3 weeks ago I thought I'd share my 2 cents in case anyone is still on the fence. I double on electric and upright and consider myself a semi professional gigging only 3 or 4 times a month in several different projects mainly for my own enjoyment. Although my focus has been on the upright the last couple of years 2/3rds of my gigs are still on the Fender. I was very apprehensive about shelling out the $1k+ but decided to jump in knowing I could always resell it.
Played 3 gigs so far, 2 electric gigs 1 classic soul and 1 Blues/ Americana and one upright gig with a jazz trio no FOH support. This thing is the best investment in gear I ever made. I've been trying to get a decent amplified sound out of the upright with minimal success until now. No matter what amp or speaker I plug this box into, as long as the amp has an fx return I have my sound, double bass or electric. Echoing someone else on this thread I don't like practicing without it anymore. Kudos to Jack! I'm never selling this thing.

I've been thinking about a more modular rig so I don't have to haul an amplifier anymore. So pretty much a powered PA speaker or powered bass cab + running the Noble direct to it. Anyone runs the noble with QSC K10.2 or K12.2 or other powered PA speaker systems? Thoughts?
I’ve had a few PA cabs over the years for acoustic instrument rigs. They aren’t voiced very well for the bass guitar and tend to lack warm low end. In a word: Unexciting.

I use a QSC 10.2 as a monitor, great in that situation.

I’ve read people using that as a bass cab! Quite iteresting, specially the K12.2.

I was gonna buy one. The only thing I don’t like about that cab is the weight! 75lbs of pure muscle! Can it handle mid size venue with just the 2x10?

Absolutely. I’m using it with a loud 6-piece classic rock band, and it has no problems keeping up. It’s not that bad to pick up and put it in the truck. I really like it, but as always, YMMV...

I traded in my QSC K 12’s for the newer K10.2. I tried Aguilar DB 659, Mesa Rosetta preamp, and Avalon U5. I used the bass and studio monitor DSP settings on the K10.2. Each one sounded great, each one different, the signature sound of each preamp came threw. So I would be confident that the Noble or any other preamp would sound as expected. I didn’t have time to try the Line 6 HX Stomp For bass. And I would like to try the guitar emulations, using the guitar DSP and HX Stomp with our guitar-player.

The QSC K10.2 can mix two signals, your Preamp and your monitor mix on stage. On a cramped stage this would be better than having an amp on the floor where the midrange is harder to hear with your back right up to the amp. The K10.2 is a big step up from the K12 IMHO. Highly Recommended!
