Me too. This was my exact setup. I miss my Noble![]()
Been thinking about a Noble for a while...
I see a lot of comparison with Fender because of the "boost only" eq with no mid control, but Noble is not a true fender tone stack... correct?
I love fender amps (vintage Bassman 100, and Fender TBP-1 pre/power amp). Will the noble get me there?
Anyone with direct Fender/Noble experience? Noble vs Alembic, etc.
The Fender tone stack is flat at 2, 10, 2 for B/M/T (numbers, not "clock"). The Ampeg B-15 Baxandall/James tone stack is flat with both B and T at noon and can boost or cut. The Noble is flat with both knobs fully CCW so closer to the Fender than the Ampeg and can boost only. To me the Noble is closer to a Fender than to an Ampeg. I own amps with both Fender and Ampeg tone stacks. And... a Noble.
How do you use the Noble with the Mesa d-800? Do you use the pre of the Noble with the power of the Mesa for stage monitoring or do you just use the Noble as a DI to front of the house?

OK, I finally "committed" to velcro .. and should have done this a long time ago. MUCH more portable, convenient solution for the few pedals I use regularly. Thanks for recommendations!

The SA (along with the Noble) sounds GREAT! I just recorded a new song with a music buddy that I'll post soon. The SA makes the acoustic bass guitar w/black nylon tapes sounds like an upright with gut strings. Fast attack, fast decay. Way better than using foam or tissue mutes.
Interesting description. Is this the setting you're using?
I'm always interested in trying to get more of an upright sound.
I tried this setting on my Sneak Attack with my Darkglass Vintage Deluxe and didn't notice much of a difference.
Yes. Also use steep slopes on the attack and decay. Effect is especially noticeable in recordings. And more so with acoustic bass.
