Noble Amps Preamp

I dont use a fender rumble actually. I use a Kustom and bypass the pre. Its a fantastic amp.

Which model Kustom?

I understand your budget dilemma, but I don't know if connecting the Noble to a less than great practice amp is the best idea, its kind of like putting big dollar rims on a junky car.

Several folks here (i.e. Angel Crusher) on the Noble thread (has it reached mega status yet ?) seem to be happy with the Fender Rumble/Noble pairing. I'm guessing that Fender is a global brand and available in Sweden. What about a used EBS combo - made in Sweden even, they must be available there. Other global brands would be the Ampeg BA series and possibly GK. Also, I would definitely look at used gear over new if budget is an issue - so much gear out there in the world.

good luck

If I get a combo amp I want it to have
An effects return to bypass the built in preamp. Thats my way of making sure I get the most out of the Noble.
I also want it to be lightweight and fairly small. So therefore its not going to be perfect, but Im in need of good enough right now, not perfect. Though I just spent an hour looking at wayne jones audio products cause of @jpeeze .

So far the fender rumble 100 is the only one hitting the mark - but I would like user feedback on it.

Other option might be a Markbass cmd 121p - used Ive seen them go just north of what i would like to pay.

Ebs dont really make any lightweight combos, and their classic tiltback combos dont have FX loop. Bummer

Also considered a barefaced cab but need separate poweramp then...so would have to reaearch that.

Well... I best keep at it! :bassist:

Wayne Jones makes a 1x10 power cab. I just received his 2x10 1000watt power cab using his pre amp, it is a monstrous cab. I do not have a Noble yet but it’s in the plans.

I’d not heard of this cab maker before, and it turns out that he’s local (well, at least in the same country). Cheers!

Also, latest layout of Noble board:

As far as attachment goes I use both zip ties and HD velcro... I can literally pick the board up with instrument cable and I like the reassurance of knowing it is very unlikely I will ever come unplugged during a performance. I have used this same set for hundreds of shows over the couple years. It works very well for me, but I like things simple and fool proof as I can make them.

thanks PFAC, I'm all about simple and foolproof.
I did go ahead and commit to a layout today. I currently am just using velcro, but I think I may go ahead and zip tie at least the Noble to the board .. its a heavy sucker and I'm not convinced the velcro alone will hold it.

Buy some 3M dual lock. It will hold your Noble safe and secure.

I should do that, because the normal stuff tends to get iffy when the adhesive starts to melt a bit during our NCal summers (anywhere away from the coast)

I still think I will zip tie the Noble on the board, just for extra peace of mind.

Joining the ranks. Jack told me wait time is currently approx. 12 weeks. I put in my order a couple weeks ago so 10 more weeks and my new preamp/DI should almost be here. Just in time for second half of festival season. I wish I had sooner, but what can one do. It will replace the AX8 on my board. :)
Dingwall + Noble = tonal bliss.

It'll hold your whole body weight, probably. That stuff is Herculean.
I already used the velcro that came with the Metro board. I'll have to redo the velcro with the 3M dual lock stuff before it gets hot here. I've had pedals literally slide off the board when things were toasty (100+ degrees).

I got to use the new scaled down board with the Noble and the Cali76CB last night. Had to do a little bit of knob tweaking to get it where I wanted it for live work (but no FOH). Sounded great. The bigger tweaking task was around the Cali76 but I've had that experience before when using different compression/compressor ... gotta find a good balance between some and too much. Noble tone was glorious thru the Mesa WD800 and Berg CN212 cab.

I don't, just got mine. But they do come up here on TB and Reverb (that's where I found mine) from time to time.

good luck, it took me about 3 weeks of steady hunting to grab the one I found. Well worth the effort.

That’s pretty impressive  , I stalked TB, reverb and ebay as well as 2 local sale sites, for a few weeks, but came up with nothing.

Anyone want to sale a Noble Preamp quickly lol. Have cash on hand.

Given that they go for about the same amount used as new (and if I bought from overseas I still had customs and VAT to deal with...) I just bit the bullet and ordered a new one. Jack was fantastic to deal with and I couldnt be happier with the preamp.

If you need it quickly I suppose the used market may grant you your wishes, but you better be quick when they show! Good luck:)
