Ok I can answer that....Yes I would call the Basswitch even more flat so to speak.
I never used the second loop so I cannot say, but the flat tone between these pres are not radically different.

With the starlifter you have some built in EQ curves which are nice....Both are killer DIs

Just received the Nordstrand Starlifter. Love the vintage, flat, modern switch.
Very punchy! Let’s the basses sonic character come through.

Played P, PJ, Rick, Cirrus while using a power amp and also tried Aguilar TH 500 “effects in”

I wonder if anyone has tried Carries onboard Pre. Would it sound as good as The Star-lifter?

I have several basses built with Carey’s 3 band preamp and love it. It is very similar to the Starlifter IMO. My favorite preamp to use in basses and the Starlifter is my favorite also.

Yes have installed several on-board pre-amps, two band, three band variety. The onboard preamps are designed somewhat differently, the EQ points are different on the Starlifter though, especially the midrange frequency having an user-adjustable range.
The Starlifter might be an excellent way to spice up your passive bass tone before plugging into your amplifier.

The Starlifter simply makes anything you plug into it sound better and has useable tones no matter the settings IMO. I use it in the front of my Genzler Heads as it just sounds better. The FOH and IEM's is where it shines most. I compare it to a great Recording studio processed tone that you can get in pedal form for your FOH sound.

100% agreed. I use mine now as a primary pre-amp before a QSC GX5 for loud gigs but the Starlifter is the only thing I bring for IEM dates, which is 75% of what I do now anyway.

Been using this rig 2-4 times a week live and it simply kills. I've never had better bass tone. There is just something about the clarity and thickness each note has while cutting through a busy mix.

I’ve owned some of the best from Subway Plus, SLO Tube Preamp, REddi, RNDI, Noble, Khan, firefly, Trickfish Minnow and more. To me the best sounding preamp I’ve owned is the Starlifter. It made everything I played through it sound better. It made like a professional piece of gear also.

I thought I read you were selling the Starlifter and keeping the Minnow ?

The Starlifter is the best Premp I've used and wroks great with any bass I've tried it with. However, I'm using Roscoes mainly now and they are warmer sounding and for me the Trickfish works best as it is more open tonally than the Starlifter was. I have been using the Trickfish mainly for the last 3 weeks and love it.
