Not everyone is on FaceBook......

Here's a story about one experience with Facebook:

My job had sent me out of state for a couple weeks to Indianapolis. Absolutely nothing to do in the middle of winter, tons of snow on the ground, alone in my hotel room (though I did bring my bass and travel amp to keep me sane). So one night I head out to a strip club to have a drink and forget about the world for the night. I'm sitting there minding my own business at a table when this one dancer keeps walking up and talking to me, asking my name, where I'm from etc. I didn't offer her any money so it's obvious she was interested in me and she's getting really friendly, although it's just friendly because I was only there to have a drink and look at pretty girls, no lap dances or anything. Toward the end of the night she offers me her phone number and heads back to the dressing room. I'm about to head back to my hotel when she suddenly returns, angry and confrontational. She says she looked me up on Facebook and found out I had a girlfriend, then demanded to know why I was there. In only an hour this chick had gone from curious stripper to jealous other woman and told me I had wasted her night when she could have been working o_O

What?!?! She just got disappointed since this sign at her backstage area, proved her wrong, and she believed in it...so little wonder she got ...

I love reading about Facebook. I have read this entire thread. I use an alias on the internet since self-deprecation makes people uncomfortable. Facebook would probably be a bad idea for me. I would be trapped not sharing anything which is crummy enough in real life.

I have friends who come over and then use Facebook, reading me the occasional excerpt but mostly not. Sure, I'm not very interesting company but I don't know how to feel about that.

Minimal FB footprint for me personally but I have an account so I can manage the band's FB presence. Agree with @guy n. cognito that FB gets way more traffic than website. I think our website gets single or double digit hits a month, while FB is in the thousands per month (impressions, reactions, views, etc). We keep the website 100% updated for info (gig dates) but put the majority of our content up on FB. Haven't really found a use for Twitter or Instagram at this point.

Because then any girl I may be dating at the time get's angry and asks "why is your profile set to private?". My current gf would get angry all the time over FB and ask "why did you add insert-girl's-name-here as a friend?" until finally I deleted my account a month ago.

You might have less of a FB problem, and a bit more of a girl problem....

Yes. Clearly you haven't been following the news on them. No need to hash it out here. Let's just say they control what trends and what doesn't. Many treat Facebook as "real" news. So it "moves the ball" in the direction they want it to move.

You could Google it........oh....wait......never mind that either. :D

Ah. I see where you are coming from. Let's just say I would be the opposite side of this debate - were there a debate!

Hey thanks. I might be down near you tomorrow. Going to go see some family for early Thanksgiving in Bladen County. (OK, I should clarify. My WIFE'S family. My people ain't no Bladen County people. :D)
We're shooting our new music video in Bladen County. We did the performance shots today lol. Doing the actors shots the weekend after thanksgiving. My singer owns a lot of land in Tarheel, NC. It's about half hour from my place. I live about a mile from the Reilly Rd gate going into Fort Bragg.

Here's what the set looked like

First time using a drone. That was pretty exciting and also weird playing with a drone flying around us.
