Nothing is douchey

The fact that this generation resorts to one word about vaginal washing devices to equate to stupid, moronic, weird, strange, bizarre etc. Etc is pretty much an indictment of the lack of creativity in present society.....LMFAO:eek::p

This is nothing new. Different words can mean the same things at different periods in time.

Like "square."

If I had to guess I would say that the guy who started the "douchey" threads is a lot like me. What I mean is, I am a sarcastic guy. Lots of times things I type on this forum are misunderstood as being more serious than they actually are. I'm sure that guy doesn't literally think that the things he posted about make "offenders" actual bad people.

Lighten up. Talking about douchey moves on stage is just fun. Nothing more.

Instructions for getting over douchey threads.

1. Grab panties.
2. Unwad.

Ah, so a characteristic of doucheyness is douchebaggy actions. However, how does one define douchebaggery without a prior understanding of the qualities that make something douchey?

I guess it does depend on the definitions and associations we have about the term. It does seem to be getting tossed around in a broader sense these days. But this:

The word in vogue for that used to be a-hole.

kind of sums up how I grew up with the term. Much more behavior/attitude related, synonymous with being a real jerk, or outright a-hole. So "stop being such a douchebag" and the like were more call outs on bad behavior than anything.

Everybody has their own preferences of what they like to wear on stage. . . . And everybody has their own preferences of what they like to see on stage. When the preferences of the entertainer don't match the preferences of the audience member, the audience member is going to be turned off. If he chooses "douchey" to express that dissonance, I suppose he has the right.

Douche is not a state.
It is behavior.
We simply associate certain objects/dressware/whatever with douchey behavior.

Yup, this.
Personally i like to dress up a bit more than normal onstage, because i feel people don't want to just see some middle-aged grownups, so i add some sparkley tops and boots to it. I rarely run around town like that though. :-)

I take pride in being a douchebag the size of Texas and nothing anybody says can stop me.

I am even thinkng about spray painting the word "douchebag proud" on the back side of my music stand so everyone in the audience will see it.

And then placing the stand in front of our guitar player....:D

In all seriousness, I 100% agree with the OP.

It was posted in Bass Humor and Gig stories. Was it a gig story posting? No.

So, what does that leave you with????

Hint: something towards the opposite end of serious.

Yeah, I agree with you that it was made sarcastically.
