NPD DSM Noisemaker OmniCabSim

I'm only liking this passive aggressively

Nice! What band are you playing with? Me and @GentProvocateur can show up, and nerd out about bass stuff ;-)

Sorry, My phone autocorrected GTGs to gigs. Fixed it. We have large TalkBass/Facebook group Get-To-Gethers at least once a year (in the Fall, and sometimes in March) Definitely a LOT of gear nerding going on. :) I'll PM after work with further info.

My main reason to use the OCS is so that overdriven bass sounds ok FOH when I'm DI'd (most times). One of the bands I play in is a RATM tribute band, lots of overdriven sounds from very mild to very in your face... and it gets a little too fizzy if you don't tame it. I have been using an EBS Multidrive for milder overdriven sounds, and a VT-Bass for higher gain sounds... I use the VT-Bass because it has a speaker simulation built-in so it sounds better than many other pedals... but using the OCS I'm free to use other pedals I like better and adjust the sound "just so".

It’s all good- I snagged it! Can’t wait to hear how this works on my board.:bassist:

Also- @willsellout what kind of headphones are you using for practice these days? I’m planning on taking full advantage of some couch practices now and I’m in the market for some new cans!

I'm using some Sony MDR 7506's I believe. Not terribly expensive but they sound good to me and they are comfortable to wear for hours for me personally.

How are you all setting the knobs for FOH situations? I had one of the first versions but couldn't stop fiddling with all the knobs. I never knew how it really sounded out FOH.

My settings don't change from a FOH situation to recording or practicing. One thing that really helped me was I initially hooked the pedal up with a looper before the OCS. I spent a couple of hours looping grooves and just experimenting with what the pedal did. Once I found a tone that worked for me, I have just been sticking with it.
