be sure to install a relay bypass that you have to click 10000 times so it doesn't pop tho, that's the key

Also, charge the same amount for it as it takes to click the bypass so it doesn't pop

I pulled the Ictineo off my board....


....and gave it a special place in my rack

I need to grab those super rubber washers to slip under the caps so the pots dont move on me, but I've got a tasty little back-of-the-rig thing going on. Ictineo takes my snake feed from my pedalboard, runs into the HPF, then into my Meatsmoke Pre and RB700II

Way cool setup!! It's really neat how you have all your "utilities" in the back and out of sight.

I've been in Florida for most of the week and only had one night with the ictineo and Fifth Gear. And as much as I love being on vacation I miss a my gear...lol. The ictineo does that thing that tube amps do to your tone. The oomph, the mojo with dirt pedals, all of that. I can see why the other versions of this pedal were so popular. It's safe to say I'm bolting this one down to my board...

Hell yeah! That's how I feel too. I run mine into a tube head and all, but I knew as soon as I got the Ictineo to practice and had it at bumpin levels, it was going to be a keeper and a staple. It def adds a lot of mojo to the signal. Lots of clarity too. Every note I hit like, rings out. Especially with a pick.

Oh, and the fifth Gear is the drive I've been looking for. Compression, more oomph and a general pusher of other pedals. Southampton is really killing it!!

I feel the Fifth Gear is the best boost I've ever played. It's not your transparent boost, but what it adds to the signal is magnificent. It adds girth without mud, clarity without harshness.

Thanks! The only problem is the OmniCabSim has a momentary switch on it, so it has to be engaged every time I power up. It's a circuit design thing but I'll occasionally forget to turn it on and wonder why my rig suddenly sounds terrible

Haha yeah I'm sure. At least it's normally an easy/quick fix. I want to get an Omnicab, I think it would be really beneficial to me playing out. I've gotten so use to the pedals that power up automatically and the ones that dont, its like second nature to me to be clickin away as soon as power comes up.

I brought the Ictineo to my band practice tonight and plugged it in at the end of my pedalboard going straight into my Aguilar TH500 Effects Return. It easily drove the power amp to the volumes we needed, and sounded super clear and punchy with my Jazz bass. It really sounded fantastic. I ended up close to the "SVT" settings, but with both the Tone and Body knobs turned a bit closer to 12:00 from their respective settings. And I was running it with the Boost on. Volume on the pedal was at 9:00-10:00ish driving the power amp to decent rehearsal volumes . Sounded great.

The boost.....oh the boost.....its so friggen sweet!

I mean the main boost btw. I also keep mine in Sub bass too, but the main boost is where it's at.

I love that deep sea blue. Personally. I do love etched pedals but these days I seem to be etching only my pedals that have stickers on them.

Yeah! Turning the boost on but dialing back the volume adds a nice subtle growl to the sound. I like it.
UltraBass on for live, off for headphones.
